Yes you will see that the colours and many of the backing screens are made from fallout computer screens,(most notably the pedia screen) and the green matches (or is fairly close) To the green text colours used in the original fallouts. the problem with using a lot of the computer screens from fallout is that their 'borders' are very large, and there is not enough space to use them and still have space for what needs to be 'on the screen' so certain compromises have to be made to walk hand in hand with the civ system.

in terms of the game we are still very early in all the development, (although it has been months) you'll see that a lot of unit buttons have art from fallout, one problem is that the buttons are very small and the art sources are very large, so it actually takes quite a lot of effort to make some buttons, as they have to be cleaned and sharpened, etc. So in many cases a lot of time can go into one button that is just 64x64. We're are also trying to create a style and uniformity to many of the buttons rather than having a mish mash of different backgrounds poses etc. To try and give a unified look to the game. Perk graphics will feature heavily in buttons, if you look at the action buttons you will see the beginnings of this.

We have spent a lot of time figuring out what code effects what visuals, and how much we can transform these. None of us are expert coders or anything close to that, so most advancements come after long hours of trial and error, (mostly error)

As to the Leader portraits, I don't want to use 2d art, as the 3d is already quite close to what we need/want for the leaders, and the current content is an advertisement to try and entice new artists onboard, without them having to model work from scratch. (unless they really want to!)

Yes, there are already many custom units, do you mean art or unique.
Art we already have a lot of, although we are not really art guys, so we are looking for someone to help us make them even better.
If you mean unique units, we plan to make each faction almost entirely unique, with diffrent strengths and weaknesses, once we get this version stable (if we can find and fix these intermittent bugs) we will begin the faction specific content, developing oone faction at a time from the ground up.

1: Is the trade counter system working? I have a counter with a few supplies, and a trade caravan that walks up to my town but then just rins away? I have it set to public? What am I missing?

2: Recruitment: Is the only way to recruit new people to go to a town tavern and hire them?
