I'd like to get around to doing a WSS mod at some point.
I'd like to get around to doing a WSS mod at some point.
Make sure there arent other mods in the Data folder too, and make sure to install the Startpos.esf file correctly as per the README file instructions.
NB I have only tested the mod with the Steam version of ETW. I cannot vouch for how it runs on the non Steam versions.
Follow the instructions in the README file. I run it without Modmanager. Its important that other mods are removed first. Check your user script file to make sure it isnt still listing other mods that might be conflicting. Also try "Run as Administrator" for Steam.
I have uploaded an updated version of this file to fix a problem with gaps appearing in some gunbelts.
I'll return it to at some stage. I have just released beta of Nine Years war mod.
I didnt include all Hetmanate TW units. Some which were not around in the 18th century were left out.
For the Russian battle flag I used a surviving one from the Battle of Narva 1700. The flag is quite torn up now though. Its speculative whether it was used in the 1690s because very little is known about the Russian uniforms from this period. The uniforms from 1670 are known because of a report from the Malmo postmaster, who was a spy. But that army was disbanded. Most of the Russian uniforms I used in my previous full mod, Colonialism 1600AD (the ones with Streltsy style uniforms) were based on the 1670 uniforms. But I have left those out because that army was disbanded probably by Sophia. It seems there may have still been a few feudal cavalry around until 1700, so I included a Landed Cavalry unit. I based it on a picture of a Landed Cavalry I found on imtw website but I may return to this in a future release as I will research this more. Also as late as the Battle of Narva, the majority of Russian soldiers were still wearing Eastern style dress. However an engraving of the Battle of Azov 1696 shows a mix of eastern and western clothing among the commanders.
Running ETW normally without modmanager is how I run it. Read the README file for install instructions. Check your user script file to make sure there aren't other mods in it because otherwise the game may be trying to run them.
Okay the Beta is now up. Enjoy. For installation instructions read the README file in the download.
I wish to thank the makers of Hetmanate TW for most of the models I'm using for this faction. I've also made a pikeman though for them.
I will be uploading in the next hour or two. Just a few last minute tests.
This was one of 3 Huguenot regiments of foot formed by William III of England in 1689.
I want to release at least a Beta this week.
I am largely relying on the xenophon website for the Austrian regiments.
I based this unit on the hussar in the rear of the winged hussar in this book about the Battle of Vienna 1683. By the end of the century, some of them only wore a helmet for armour. Bloomsbury.com
From late 17th century to 1725 it was green-yellow. It was then green-red as late as 1762.
April probably. Im still adding some models. I want to add units like Hussar Retainers for Poland-Lithuania.
I havent deleted any questions on this.
In Steam go to "Verify Integrity of cache" and that will restore the default Startpos.esf file. That might sort that out.
The ETW engine only allows one battle flag per faction. However I will try to put in a Tercio flag, and maybe some submods to allow the player choose a different Tercio's flag, but the ETW game only allows one flag per faction. I would point out though that the existing Cross of Burgundy battle flag in the mod was one of those used in the 17th century, albeit with many variations.
I've been told of Bran's AI mod and I am looking into whether I can include that a modded version of it in the next release.
Its not possible to add regions in ETW (to my knowledge) except for the Imperial Destroyer mod that converts some trade theatres to regions.
The plan is to include an installer in the next release. Much work is going on behind the scenes. The mod is NOT dead.
If you install the startpos.esf as per instructions it starts in 1600s.
