In which time does the story take place? The beautiful thing about making a new installment is creating the story and plot.. I am not arguing with you at all i agree with what you say.. but i also would like to help the developer figure out the entire mine fire thing because the story would be based around a mine worker.. Id hate for the entire project to be scrapped because some fans want to keep it stuck in the same story... I would like to step into silent hill with a new story and some new characters... new events..

Would this game only take place within the fog world though? from what i read you would be playing a member of the order.

In the end, Silent hill being buried on an indian burial site still has nothing to do with the mystical powers the lands hold.. It was the existing powers that drew the indians to treat the lands as a sort of holy place to settle there..The powers and mysteries pre-date any cultures or people residing there..

The powers that inhabit the area are in charge, it does NOT have to be all about a specific observers mind or story to see pyramid head..Because as i said.. the mystical powers are in charge there.. And if it wishes pyramid head to manifest in a twisted ****** up world.. Then is would not be twisting the series or ******* anything up becuase that is the chaotic nature of silent hill..there are no rules of what you can or can not see unless the powers that govern it say so.. With that said tho, I must agree pyramid head should not be in the game... If anything, a reference.. or perhaps imagery or a statue of him could be nestled within the game for some to find as sort of an easter egg perhaps..Or perhaps a variant.

totally open for debate, Because seemingly.. Aside from legitimate lore[ which there is not really too much to go off of ] A lot of lore was shaped and created by players and their opinions trying to make sense of things left unanswered in which altered each game series.. Wiki information is not always absolute and true.

The story lines, movies and games aside..Because it is a alternate reality.. the story can be ANYTHING, although it should make sense within the silent hill lore!.. With that fact, anyone Saying homecoming was ruining the series is a load..because anything is possible in the otherworld.. Face it if the powers can turn reality into a hellish burning rusted moldy world.. they can probably manifest monsters from other peoples experiences as well..and Afterall.. Silent hill is based off a westerner area in the US.. And i've had the pleasure to visit Centralia i live in north eastern pennsylvania.. And the Noth eastern US was HUGE on coal mining.. So playing a collier is not as far off as it seems.. The North east is riddled with coal mines and abandoned towns.. Not just centralia.. During the fall and winter months it really does feel like the fog world of silent hill.. Amazing.. I remeber watching the smoke rise from the mountains from the mine fire.. Some parts are still burning today.. anyway

Your hitting the nail on the head, for sure..The fog rolls in off toluca lake, and really it was mostly snow but the ash makes total sense seeing as the events based around alessa and her being burned and all.. But your comment about "westerners" contradicts your statement "everyone who visit Silent Hill will see the town differently" That said... Who's to say it was not there was no mine fire? There could be one.. There could have been one manifested in the "fog world" or the "otherworld".... based upon a westerners perception who experienced the town in their own way and made a game based around " How they saw it "..
