Minecraft is a voxel based survival game (creative mode is available)and is very casual and can be enjoyed on rainy days when you have nothing left to do.
Although it has no actual direction other than surviving against hoards of monsters (Incredibly boring enemies with the exception of the creeper and enderman)it encourages exploration so you can craft new gear, make cake, build shelters and farm animals and crops so you have a never ending supply of food. As soon as you have everything you need you no longer feel its worth playing to survive.
Although it is quite possible you will get bored of it quickly many will claim it to be their favourite game and you may be one of those people.
It has good mod support which can spice up the game but they get out dated every time it updates.
It updates frequently however you will need to recreate a world to access some features like environmental updates, this can become quite tiresome.
The multiplayer community is either great or really bad depending on what and where you play it has some nice people on it that are very welcoming however due to its popularity its prone to trolls who can ruin games. (admittedly greifing can be fun if you've giving up on minecraft survival, but only do it on grief servers).
It has been quite prone to bugs however these do tend to get fixed in following updates sometimes whole updates just for bugs.
I really feel this game is overrated and should be kicked form the "top spot" so to speak as it isn't as good as some fans make out and I feel there are many game who deserve the recognition minecraft has gotten. People may say you can do "anything" I beg to differ and say you can go as far as pixel art and custom maps and that really isn't anything.
Its a relaxing game and can be enjoyed on miserable days when your feeling down.

Summary- Overrated game that gets boring fast and is prone to bugs and trolls however has good mod support and is relaxing sometimes as well as updating frequently

This is and excellent game and a very detailed medieval combat simulator including fighting with one handed weapons, Two handed weapons and pole arms as well as archery of course.
You can also charge into battle on horse back or fight among your men on foot.
It follows a non-linear story and you choose how you play, your actions can also affect relations with kingdoms and you can find your self becoming unwanted quickly!
You can build your own army or fight alone, either way its a fun game that I strongly recommend.
It really shows that graphics don't matter with cool mechanics!

Summary-
Great Game and well worth the money!
In my opinion fire and sword is better but many disagree!

This game is currently my favourite game of all time! It combines RTS elements with some awesome RPG elements too! Now that its got the character customisation more advanced it even better (in my opinion anyway) I look forward to more updates :D
