Lavo is only one person. Anyone is available to development a mod addon, but we're sticking to development of the main mod which is focused on large starship battles.
As to the Death Star specifically, it is overpowered compared to everything else. Unless you see the Sins team able to balance a weapon that destroys planets, I don't see it being an option. Hero units are also out of scope, they do not fit the rest of the starship battles here. This game engine isn't Empire at War, it really isn't designed for it and it's not the gameplay we're going for.
TL;DR a lot of work, no benefit. Feel free to mod it yourself :)
What graphical settings are you using? What map? Tried updating your video drivers? Tried re-downloading the mod (not from Gamefront, from any other mirro)?
Lower your graphical settings and enable your OS Paging file. There are more posts on here how to do that.
There is no difference in the Steam version (it is the only version in fact). Use the Options->Mod path and put the mod there. Enable using the EnabledMods.txt
Yes. Each version has a standalone exe. However this mod is designed for Rebellion
Camera shake? Sounds like a graphics issue. Might need to update your drivers or turn down graphical settings.
Invading planets is something that the Sins engine does not support. Ergo, we cannot mod to add it.
Sounds like a graphics driver issue or a graphics setting issue. I would try updating your driver and lowering your graphical settings
Basically because we keep getting a flood of people who can't read the documentation.
The work is still on-going, check the SVN update log
Yes. Rebellion is completely standalone and does not require the previous SoaSE or expansions
No, just install it manually. Extract it with the enclosed EnabledMods.txt to load the mod. See: Forums.swrebellion.com
Yes, mods in Sins do not modify the original game files. Also the only version of Rebellion is the Steam one, so it will work just fine.
Should try the Galaxy Forge Editor in the downloads above
My guess is you're hitting the 2GB RAM limit. No there's nothing to fix it

There is no need to make a zip. Just extract it using WinRar

No
2.0 is for Entrenchment. R1021 is for Rebellion. There is no Diplomacy support
EaW is about the worst piece of source to use. It is horrible - doesn't work with the rest of the SW canon
Yes you need Steam. You may need to force it to update (though generally Steam does a good job of updating automatically)

Are you setting different victory conditions or other settings on your maps?
What map are you using? What options are you setting?
Are you trying to use the in-game mod enabler? If so, don't.
Use the provided EnabledMods.txt
(Added to the Crash to desktop section)
Please confirm you've done all the following (including checking your download)

No, there will be no Death Stars and no hero units
As stated, this is for Sins:Rebellion 1.1
Are you awaiting an upgrade necessary to build your structures? I don't have a hint about about the saves
Lovely. I'm guessing the model is probably Warb_Null's
