I don't think better bodies n heads would break the lore .. or the main landmass!
I always thought the Hall of Wonders should be an Census & Exise Office. I always thought it strange you didn't land at the capitol of Ebonheart. Although it is really more of a Keep than an Imperial City.
I have an older release of Silgrad Tower... it was awesome! I'm watching this mod hoping that it has been updated. If not, this could be a re-posting of a copy. Silgrad Tower works great with BlackLight City Mod as they both share the landmass of Tamriel Rebuilt. Will have to keep an eye on this one ...
Fallout 3 - I really enjoyed but found the engine to be blocky and jarring - the same for New Vegas with it's broken voiced dialog - the main quest and DLC's in Fallout 3 were very entertaining and overall the game was very enjoyable.
Dishonored & Rage - I have not played yet. I'll wait till I get a new computer or an X-BOX 360. The same for Assassin's Creed 2&3, which I know is not a Bethesda Game.
Thief - I have to mention because it is still my favorite game that I play all the time. Thief I-III and of course Thief IV: The Dark Mod Project based upon the Doom 3 Engine.
I use very little Skyrim Mods, except expanded cities! Again because I'm playing it at low res. on a XP. Will have to wait for a new computer or X-Box 360.
Oblivion I played alot but found little that I would like to add to the game, agree it was generic! Knight of The Nine I enjoyed greatly and think it was a good addon. Shivering Isles, while I liked the weird landscape and both cities Bliss and Crucible, I found it disturbing and not a good main quest.
Morrowind - Still holds some strange attraction for me. And there are a ton of mods for the game. I only played it all the way through once, but can't seem to get past the first town without making changes ... I feel the same way about the whole game in general.
Daggefall - To me is the ultimate game. Not only to the tons of side quest, main quest, expanded landmass that takes you across the whole Illaic Bay. But tons of twisting dungeons and crypts. The game is just endless in options and thing to do. The only handicap is the 2D Graphics. If they took the core of this game and updated the graphics to DX11 ... it would Skyrim out of the water!
Arena - While I enjoyed the game, I found the mist Fog of War limiting in gameplay. But still the best RPG game to come out in it's day.
Morrowind has always had better mods and support from the moddling community. Oblivion to me was too blocky with a zooming face feature that I did not care for. Fallout 3 was also too blocky? And Fallout New Vegas was really broken with voiced dialog? Skyrim I'm running on XP at low res. so I can't give a good review. But will try it out on the XBOX 360.
Yes I will reduce the number of buildings, to cut down of the FPS hit. And I will remove the Cliffracer Mount by Ra'Baram's Tower to atop of the mountain and replace it with the traditional Silt Strider so Abot Animations can be used. I will also move back the Stone Warehouse so it will not block the animation. Abot Boats will also be included. And the cave, yes I chopped it up and it will be fixed.
Use your shield! The game is very slow on XP, which I have. And to reduce the FPS to a manageable 15-20 frames will mean separating Seyda Neen and the Slave Huts or cutting back on the number of NPC's in MCA 5.0. I have thought about moving the slaves to Hla Oad but I just couldn't see them traveling over the mountain and into the volcanic region everyday to go home to Hla Oad. I have not played the mod on Win 7 which is compatible. So it might run much smoother on dual or quad-core laptop or desktop. I will see what I can do to tone down the FPS hit on XP ... since I haven't updated my computer either.
Yes, the doors and walls will be fixed in the next version ... which will be released soon.
I also think that lore is very important, but also agree that it needs to be expanded upon. Bethesda is using old notes on the world design of Tamriel or Nirm left over from the Arena Game, and little has been done to expand upon these old notes. Which is why in my Seyda Neen Mod, I try to expand upon the races, cultures, and landmasses from the source materials from the elder series with ... Astrology of the Stars. The moddling community have done a wonderful job of making new races for the game, and my book tries to explain the cultural background for many of them. In Belta v2.0 of Seyda Neen - the books will be greatly expanded upon. And there were many races from the Redguard Manual that were not included in the latest game Skyrim - like the Sload, Great Apes, Tsaesci Serpent Folk, and the Sea Elves. Westly has also done an excelent job of creating new races, which need cultural background material and islands or landmasses to go along with them. We know there are landmasses outside of Tamriel that have not been released. And I would like to see a World Map of Nirm released in the future.
New Story Quest!
Astrology of the Stars - This great Characteration Book found in the Census & Excise Office will be fully intergrated with the Race Menu - meaning you can play the character races as desribed in the Book. Yes even the Panther Khjiit, Minotaur, or Centaur and 25-30 other Fan-Made Races from the Moddling Community.
Apology of Auline - Shakespear Baby! This great note left on the bed of Auline to his lovely wife Adaria Vanesia will be Quest Related around the Golden Urn of Daedor (left on the bookcase in v1.0) but lost in a nearby cave...
Journal of Ergalla Socrates - A retelling of the Story of Plato - this journal will also be Quest Related in helping Ergalla raise 1,000 Coins to journey back to the City of Cyrodiil by an Elizbethian Galleon to settle an old debt with a sniveling Senator Ocato. Where he ends up in Jail and you must free him or he'll be excuted! aka. Socrates & Plato.
The Diary of Melody - This very sad Lover's Quarrel - between the Monk Melody Cummings & Captain Sellus Gravius, begins with a request to escort Melody to Ebonheart where she hopes to flee her tormented lover, but what happens when Sellus Gravius hunts you both down?
Ra'Baram's Taxes - This Quest begins as you accently kill Ra'Baram guarding his tower, owning 2,000 coins in Property Taxes ... whose left with the bill? You! As the new owner of the Tower you are responsible for any debts owed and cleaning the Tower of it's illegal resisdents.
Eldafire's Tower - Can you help with the construction of Eldafire's Tower. She offers several quest in raising enough coins in the completion of her Mage's Tower. Collect herbs and plants, recover lost spell books, seek out ancient dweamer artifacts, etc.
Build a Galleon - Can you help the Impieral Mark Perisus build a Ship. Chop down trees for wood or buy them from the Local Lumber Mill, buy linen for sails, hire a crew to sail the ship, etc. Quest for upgrades like canons and iron balls.
There will be a Temple, Tombs, & Caves Expansion expanding every Daedric Temple, Tombs, & Caves in Vvardenfell with More Monsters & Twisting Tunnels on the scale and scope of Daggerfall Dungeons. Also using the CD Black Aria I & II, based upon the great Classical Work of Glenn Danzig!
Daggerfall for me was the best game in size and landmass. And there were features in DF that was not repeated in future games, the only problem was the 2d graphics. As for Morrowind, it is still my favorite game and MW Rebirth is one of the best mods out there! Oblivion for me was too blocky with big meshes and zooming face dialouge. Fallout 3 was also too blocky! Skyrim I can play on XP but at low resolutons, and I really dislike Steam from Value. When you buy a cd/dvd the game should run right out of the box, without a login from a sever unless it is a MMO. Will have to play Skyrim on an X-box 360 to try it out.
A ton of gameplay changes and balancing issues, great job!
Do you really need two stairs ... perhaps another building shop/home?
I have you thought about including MCA 5.0 ... which is a smaller download file compared to MCA 7.0 which is dependent upon Westly Head Pack.
The entrance to Vivic - looks awesome! Tons of detail, but a lack of NPC's. I love the water basin and water lilies.
I will also edit the villains in caves across the board with better armor, weapons, loot and stats increase. The beginning player can fight animals for training and skill increase. I always thought there should be more animals it is a forest/swamp after all.
Will this project be a replacement for the island of Vvardenfell or an expansion. Have you ever thought about a Total Conversion?
There are a lot of conflicts between island and landmasses mods, some of them have patches so that they can co-exist together. I might release a patch for some islands to include ships and travel back and forth from the mainland. Will have to wait and see ... I would like to include Tamriel Rebuilt, Silgrad Tower, etc. Will have to check the readme and get permissions.
I really like the dgl-galleon that I used and will like to keep it for a while. And will included other ships in the docks around Vvardenfell. I have thought about including Alternate Beginnings and might add my galleon to the list.
I have thought about switching the script from Zeus the Northern to Jiub Knub in v2.0. There is a mod for Jiub Knub on the net called Black Queen Chronicles where you have to find the prison ship and then Jiub. As for the attacks in town, it was done on purpose ... I was inspired by Immersive Chargen Mod which works good with Morrowind Rebirth by the way.
Survival Hunger was used in the mod, and you have to eat to survive, there are barrels and baskets with food in the Census Office. I have thought about using Necessities but there is a conflict with MCA 5.0. And Basic Primary Needs is also an alternative. I will look at them again and find the best one, or try to resolve the conflict in NOM and MCA. I will also include Personal Hygiene or Stinkers for bathroom water basins and bathtubs.
I think the updates are done in tenth degree ... v.0.9 and v2.0 and v2.1!
Yes, I always thought that many Commoners should have been Adventurers including Fargoth the Thief, Eldafire the Mage, etc. As for Calius Cosades, there are many mods that effect the house in Balmora which will be added. I will look into adding clothing or armor to Calius since he is an Agent of the Empire and perhaps offer more training and items for sale in his inventory.
Yes there will be a huge armor & clothing pack included from Westly Clothing to Clother's of Vvardenfell and a Female Armor pack. Most of the clothing for females is quite skimpy and not lore specific, and will not be included. But clothing that is to the medieval time-period and have a similar fantasy theme will be included. So as long as it looks like it should belong in Morrowind then I am fine with adding them.
Thank you, it took a lot of work to write and edit the books added to the game. Astrology of The Stars, the intro was edited from DragonLance, the rest is original with the exception of the Orc's which was edited from War of Worldcraft. The Journal of Auline comes from Shakespeare, Diary of Melody comes from an old saying of love and planets, and Ergalla was edited from Plato & Socrates. More books will be included with the next build v2.0 with art and pictures.
The Beholder was a cool mesh from mjy ...
Will the release be this weekend?
You are correct the text is way too long. I'm glad you enjoyed all the hard work that went into writing it though. The code was cryptic and written in the tree-style of a Lone Wolf book. And many characters could only have so much dialog while others could go on and on. This file was created back in 1997-1998 and was found on CD-R in my collection and re-posted for the DOD fans to enjoy.
There will be an update DOD 3.0 to cut the text in-half, so that it will be more player friendly for Hack n Slash gamers. You are right, the sword and flintlock should be in the game - but were never included. The original files were lost for this game - hince only the text update. I have thought about getting the Quake II engine and finishing the lost levels - but how many people have a computer that still plays Quake and even XP is a dinosaur, which I still have. As for the Swamp & Village Level, you are correct they should be there own levels - depending on which direction I chose it will be fixed. I'm thinking about porting this over to Morrowind on it's own little island; so it doesn't conflict with the main game.
I will write a second Walk-Through for the second level Swamp & Village to help players through the swamp and disappearing witch and how to leave the village.
In the next build v2.0 they will be stock art with only the names and stats changed. I hope to get Sablegirl or Westly or someone else to do the character races for me since I don't have the programs or skill to complete the art files myself. They will be included ... as soon I find someone to help me with them.
The ship models come from 3dmax and moddling resources gather around the net. I went on a huge hunting spree to gather these ships and community races. The barrels & crates are there just for looks, you can't click on them or anything until you pick your race and leave the Census Office. The Books were written by me and some of them come from my D&D collection, thank you for enjoying them - it took a lot of work and editing to get them to fit into the pages with images. There will be more books in v2.0 with new images and art. A ton of races will be included also in the next build, also gathered from around the net. I am aware of the chest bug - the game can not create a 1,000 gold icon so I will have to use two 500 gold coins for the chest. As for the game - the mod is only an Alpha Build that was back-up on DVD-R so there are alot of bugs and crashes - the other version was stolen by so-called friends who tried to make it a community project so they could take credit for my Seyda Neen work.
There is a grass mod in MGSO 3.0, however I don't like the models because your character can not run through the grasses like the original ones from Bethesda. That saying, I do plan to use the original meshes for grasses in TCS and add them to the game world with flowers and plants. There will be about 20 different ship designs in the next version ... and it should be released soon. Sorry for the lack of updates it's been a really bad year ... and I've been playing Skyrim.
In my mod Seyda Neen Census & Village ... I already added netch armor to Fargoth Leaf and changed him from a commoner to a thief - and as a member of the guild, you can join through him. It makes more sense that Fargoth should be a thief and Eldafire a Mage with a green robe.
Dremora Lords - How about adding other demon races from resources to make more variety.
Perhaps villains in caves across the board with better armor, weapons, loot and stats increase. The beginning player can fight animals for training and skill increase. I always thought there should be more animals it is a forest/swamp after all.
Calius Cosades in Balmora ... he was just drugie with no shirt.
The helmet is amazing! Where is this cave located?
Thanks for the links! I'm looking forward to your release... any news on it?
I would hide these in dwemer ruins... for sure!
I remember this game ... great! Haven't played it in years ... but very urban combat! Glad to see that someone is bring this back ... Cybris Hill!
I love Suran's new docks ... will there be any ship or galleon resources? And the wooden docks across from Suran ... is a good locatiobn for MadMax Galleon? But I never like the Nobleman and his riddle game to get the ship?
But I like Galleons... :)
You did use the world globe in Arille's Trade House in Seyda Neen from, Morrowind Decorative Stuff Mod on Planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com but did not include the galleon in Ebonheart?
I thought you were talking about the iron dagger in the census office... on the table. It is possible to use the exotic dagger as a special item by creating a unique id and renaming the mesh. But for continuity they should all look the same... dagger, short sword, long sword, two-handed sword according to iron, steel, silver, etc.
BTB's Game Improvements is also a great mod.
Wakims Game Improvements
Morrowind Rebirth Balancing is just a custom version of these mods, which I think he did a great job on!
I am no one! Nor am I apart of OpenMW... nor MoodDB!
Since I'm losing my internet connection soon ... I can't sorry! :-( But wish you well with the updates. See ya in 6 months!
I also have a core set of Mods that I always play like ... Better Bodies, Better Heads, Better Beast, Abot Animations Silt Strider, Boats, Gondolas, etc. Necessities of Morrowind, Morrowind Crafting, Morrowind Comes Alive 5.0, Westly Race Pack, Custom Races, etc.
Unforunitaly Morrowind Rebirth is it's own individual Mod, meant to be played alone. It is like a Total Conversion in that Other Mods are not meant to be played with it. But in reality it's like an Expansion of sorts. You can tweak Morrowind Rebirth with the construction set so that you can add these Other Mods. But I doubt ModDB would allow you to post it to the internet because it will be too similar to their most popular mod, which is the only one they promote. I had something similar with MW v1.4 but decided not to post it, and work on my own creation Chronicles: Seyda Neen Census & Village v1.0 which is a broken WIP. If Transmaster released the landscape, balancing changes, and new cities as seperate .esp then it would be greatly moddifiable. But that is alot of work to undo! So we will have to stick with what we are given. It is much easier to keep building on a mod (like Tetris)to a final release in one package than it is to release each block at a time.
So I guess the final answer is ... work on your Mod. Make it compatible with the Other Mods that you play, and please post it to the internet.
Is there a changelog of all these fixes and re-balancing issues?
Morrowind was released early before it was ever finished. And it was left up to the fans to finish ... which adds to it's popularity. Bethesda was still a very small company at the time coming off the dismal sales of Battlespire and Redguard. The landmass for the Morrowind Mainland was hardcoded - which is being used by the Tamriel Rebuilt Project, but never released officially. Hince the half-hills in Silgrad Tower and Blacklight City and TR Maps 1-3.
As far as the Embassies in Ebonheart go for the Tamriel Provinces ... Skyrim Mission & Blackmarsh Mission, it something that Elder Scrolls Online is doing in releasing the whole landmass of Tamriel. You will be able travel everywhere and visit everything. I don't think making Total Conversions or rebuilding the outer provinces to be screwing up the lore. Fans want to travel from Morrowind to Blackmarsh, Elsweyer, Skyrim and Cyrodill. Which Bethesda is doing the same thing with each new game. But I still like the fans versions of these outer provinces.
Download link fixed ... already playing from MWNexus! I really like the improvements made, especially to weapons n armor, etc. But the game is playing kinda slow on my old XP, but that is expected. Will give you some advice and feedback once I explore the quest and dungeons part of the game.
There's is a Westly Master Head Pack ... but it is a huge download file. I use it with MCA 7.0 but both files are just too huge to post to ModDB in a single file with my mod. So that's why I use MCA 5.0 instead, it still uses the original heads from The Construction Set.
I agree ... Farms make the game feel more realistic and natural ... a peaceful setting among the adventuring hack n'slash mouse clicking.
I like the flow of the river and the added tower & hut. The gnarled trees and wooden ramps are a nice touch. Exactly where is this?
The Text Patch started out as Fan Fiction in a notepad file ... then I just ported it over to the game text file. I will take your request and cut the dialogue in half ... thank you for your comments.
