Looks good! One question though, about balance:
I remember playing in the past and having the problem where you would need like 5 defense towers to kill a group of infantry. If they were veteran rank of above, it took 1/2 of the tower's health before I was able to get them down. I remember the vehicles were more reasonably balanced, but infantry were insane.
Was this looked at?

What I tried doing under the data/ini/playertemplate.ini file was set the Startingbuilding for GDI from GDICOnstructionYard to ZOCOMCOnstructionYard. I could add the ini file, but I think it was too big to save...
Hey, this is kind of a weird question, BUT:
Is it possible to rename two factions? What I mean to change Nod to Marked of Kane, and Marked of Kane to Nod. This way, I can have the Marked of Kane layout in SP, since SP only used the orig NOD faction.
I could also so something similar for Reaper and Scrin, or Talon with GDI.
Is this posible? I can do some minor big editing.

One other thing: is the amount of money a harverster harvests per run been reduced? It seems to take forever to build anything, esp since we can't make forward bases without getting a MCV.
Is there some kind of prospector for any faction? Not sure how to make forward bases.

I personally have no problems with waiting. Just do what you can dude. It sounds like it will be amazing. Just please don't do a Diablo 3: releasing it early to make people happier.

You can't just launch the mod. You have two files, a skudef file and a big file. The big file contains the mod info, and the skudef contains the paramaters to launch the game.
There are two ways to play this, through desura and not through desura. I personally don't use desura. Instead, I use a batch file to manually launch the game.
What you need to do is launch a windows command to open the game and launch the skdef at the same time. You do this with the following command:
CNC3.exe -modconfig "D:\Command & Conquer 3\Mods\Crossfire\Crossfire_0.5.skudef"
THIS FILE YOU CREATE HAS TO BE IN THE SAME DIRECTORY AS THE GAME EXE. Simply open notepad, copy this (and switch the extension to match the skudef location you downloaded and placed) and save it as a .bat file. Now, all you have to do is double click on the batch file, and it will automatically open the game and mod.
Good luck. This is pretty easy to do.

Its a damn shame, I played it and it was fantastic. It was a lot better than the Tib wars mod, but that one was dead for awhile.
I have the same problems as everyone else. To put it in context: when the mod wants to spawn a certain unit in a condition it shouldn't spawn in (like water units spawning on land, or tanks spawning in the air) it hangs. I can't be exactly sure, but I can imagine that would be a interesting problem to solve.

I can start the mod, but for some reason I can't load the Taara map. I put it in the
% appdata%/roaming/CNC3/maps directory, but the map won't show up when I start CNC3. No matter what I did, the map never showed up under skirmish or multiplayer. Every other map did, however.
Also, is there only one map?

I fixed it myself. First, extract the big file, edit the gamedata.ini to limit fps (its the limit fps = Yes/No line), and then resave it a a big file. Edit the skudef file to run the edited big file, and you're good to go.
Got it limited to 30fps (normal game speed) in like 10 minutes.
