I'm passionate about gaming and have been doing it ever since 1996 when I got the PS1. I've been modding ever since late 2006 (almost a 10 year gap). My first ever mod was Desert Region for Morrowind. I tried modding for Half-Life but it's not for me. I focus mainly on my Desert Region mod series which will end after Desert Region 3 and I have plans for an indie game in the future. Watch this space...

Recently, I registered with Freewebs to have my own website for my mod portfolio. It's still not finished yet but I'll post the link when I'm finished. It'll include screenshots of my current mods, plus exclusive gameplay videos.

Anyway, I finally have time on my hands so I'll be working on Desert Region: The 9th Chapter today. I'll post up screenshots when I've done some of the new levels.

Report abuse Ceased development for Desert Region 3

Unfortunately, due to the mediocre response to Desert Region 3, I've decided to cease development for the Source engine. Meanwhile, I'll work on Desert Region 2 and the 9th Chapter. You can still view the DR3 mod but I'm deciding that it will be for Oblivion instead. I've archived it so I'll come back and re-edit everything when I get my new graphics card.

Report abuse Desert Region 3 is being worked on

Since I've recently come to grips with modding for Half-Life, I've decided to make Desert Region 3 my top priority mod project right now. I have to focus on making enough for the mod profile, then I'll work on all four mod projects. The 9th Chapter and the Final Frontier are not dead; they are just on hold for the moment. I'll get back to them, sometime in the near future.

Report abuse Steady Progress with Desert Region 3

Hi and welcome. Let me give a brief overview about the Desert Region mod for Half-Life. I've already done the first map but unfortunately, I can't seem to compile it. Instead of being in a desert, it will be in an industrial location. I don't want to reveal too much yet, mainly because I'm trying to make the transition between Morrowind and Half-Life.

Report abuse Yet another delay with Desert Region 3

0 comments by Envy on Apr 20th, 2009

I'm sorry to say that I have some good news and some bad news, regarding my modding.

First, the good news. The Desert Region series will have 3 more mods in place (Half-Life, Half-Life 2 and Oblivion). So characters like Marat are still on my plate.

Now, the bad news is that my allowance got a bit jacked up at the moment and I'm not able to purchase Half-Life right now. That means 3-4 months delay in the final release of Desert Region 3. Luckily, I'm still planning the mod and you'll definitely see some screenshots in the 2nd or 3rd quarter of this year.

Report abuse Desert Region 3 idea is formed!

Since I already made Desert Region 2, I figured out what would be in the third one already. It will be put in Half-Life (I have a fair idea of mapping and world building) and it'll mainly take place in Desert Region, quite close to Black Mesa. Now, I won't reveal too much yet but the character Marat will actually talk with my recorded voice. I don't have Half-Life yet, but I will soon.

Watch this space.

EDIT: For those ones who loved Desert Region 1 and 2, I have some bad news. Desert Region 3 is planned to be the final one which continues along the "protecting Desert Region" storyline, I'm afraid. The other fully moddable games just won't have the desert sands, according to the whole storyline.

The future of characters like Marat is highly uncertain, I'm afraid. At least, not at the moment. So far, three mods are actually enough to conclude the storyline. Any other series emerging is uncertain as well.

Report abuse Desert Region 3?

Desert Region for Morrowind took place north of the main island of Vvardenfell. There were lots to do there, especially with side quests. Most of it was pretty easy (for me anyway, this mod requires at least a Level 30 for some of the harder quests).

But after Desert Region, I decided to release the sequel. It took place in the Ashes of Apocalypse world, and technically it's more serious than the first one. Desert Region 2 adds a small amount of land, most of them being small islands. There was only 1 side-quest involved (getting Ashley Wood a husband) and collecting orbs was less fun than the previous one. The intended amount of orbs were 12,000 but then I decided to narrow it down to 2,026. I plan to put the final ending to the mod in the start of February 2009, with 4 more orbs in place.

Desert Region 3 will take place in a different game: Half-Life. It's the first of the Desert Region series to exist in another game other than Morrowind. But since, I have now put the ending to Desert Region 2, I can't say much about what will be planned in the third one for the moment, only that it will take place mostly in an expanded desert. I plan to start working on Desert Region 3 in Feb-March 2009 and I will put a profile of the mod when I at least have done 2% of the final release. The actual final release is unknown, I'm afraid. I estimate that it might be released in late 2009, but I'm not sure.

Happy gaming!

Report abuse Content Progress with both mods

For all of you game lovers, I've finally come back with news of both mods.

First, Desert Region. I still need to do the final main quests and a whole lot of cleaning up to do until it can be properly released. I don't know an exact date of when it'll be released but hopefully at the end of this year, you'll be able to play it.

And with Ashes of Apocalypse, I'm making a whole lot more quests, places and towns. I'm also adding even more White Orbs (you'll know what they are when you'll play) and a whole lot of people. This needs a lot of work still and hopefully in the end of this year, you'll be able to play more of it.

Report abuse Desert Region is here!

Ever wondered if you can't meet any Jak Series characters in Morrowind? Well, now you can! Explore the great northern island of Desert Region and do over +150 quests, explore over +100 cells and talk to over +25 people. Features include:

-more quests to satisfy you from simply planting a seed in a tree to escorting four travellers safely during a violent ashstorm.
-Many familiar Jak characters like Samos, Kleiver, Ashelin, Keira and even Jak himself!
-A few cities from Jak including Spargus City, the War Factory, the Oasis and Haven Forest.
-Gain your ranks in the Redchurch Temple and gain even more fame!
-Explore the sacred city of Moscow which is hard to access for most people in Vvardenfell.
-Collect over 3500 Precoursor Orbs and 47 Sacred Seals.

And much more!

I have done most of Desert Region but I must fix the many errors in the game. It'll be released as soon as I do that.

Report abuse Working on Ashes of Apocalypse

0 comments by Envy on Jun 28th, 2008

I'm working on a mod for Ashes of Apocalypse. It adds 5+ cities, 45+
NPCs and 55+ quests. You can either play as a freelancer or part of the
Redchurch Temple. Explore ruined cities which used to belong to
civilisation. Some Morrowind meshes are used here (for the ruined arena
only).

Check out a ruined arena, an underground city, a wiped out city and much more. Work your way up in the Redchurch Temple by doing quests - some are simple and others need a lot of work.
