Description

This photo shows a Spanish sniper team in position, ready to aid the Afghan army.
//
Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF), supported by a Spanish contingent (ASPFOR XXXII), engaged Taliban terrorists these last days as part of Operation Bold; where Afghan forces trained by Spaniards took over control of the allied joint force to combat insurgents. The battlefield was the valley of Garmak in the Baghdis province (under Spanish command), between the towns of Ludina and Babulai.

Afghan forces carried out the operation almost by themselves, to prove they are ready to take over their country, and were accompained by Spanish troops to provide only strategical advice and long-range support. The Ground Army used sniper teams for this task and the new heavy mortar on URO VAMTACs.
