Hey Elffriend! I was looking through the news section of Christians of ModDB when I saw that you wanted to make a Christian game.

I doubt I would have the time now that I hope to work on Winter Is Coming A Mod of Ice and Fire. If I was making a Christian game I would base it on the bible and sort of pull ideas from Assassin's Creed except instead of an Animus the character (Which would hopefully be customizable and maybe first person only?) would be either a typical born in a Christian home person or someone that got talked into going to church by their friends. (In other words I don't want the player to be a clear cut Christian from the start) The Pastor at the Church would be going through the bible from the beginning. So the player would sort of drift away with each major event. So say the Pastor was talking about how God created everything the player would begin to drift away imagining what happened (It has to look better than how the Animus loads) seeing a cutscene that would morph into a playable situation where the player would likely play Adam just walking around and exploring the area/doing a task here and there. Likely the beginning would be pretty lame but the parts where David or Soloman rule would be amazing historical events, although I'm not sure if completely ignoring everything that "seems boring" is a good idea either therefore I would consider making those moments somehow interesting. Hopefully it would be possible to merge history with pieces of fiction that would be explained by the setting. (For example the PC gets bored so they add their own twists here and there or something like that) That's just the rough idea that I had...

That's some good ideas,, first persons good. Mines kinda like that, (Though I think we couldn't do the Adam and Eve parts in gameplay, due to the fact that nudity wouldn't be suitable for younger players) The beginning should probably be in a cutscene, in fact, it should probably be a cutscene until the time of Moses. Then you create your Jewish character, you see how they suffered under the Egyptians, how Moses lead them out of Egypt, and how the Jews rose to power under Joshua. Fast forward to around David's time, you get the option to change the gender and features of your player, (Your playing as your first players decedent.)But it doesn't just stop at the end of the Bible, it goes on and on showing how faith adapted through time, (Still with the line of decedents.)and then, when you get to near modern times, you instead make a very young character. when your finished with the CC, your back in the Church, for the first character is the latest in the line that has spread across the ages.

That's all I've got what do you think?

I have a fix for the nudity. Have a setting in the options that allows the player to turn it off. Sure it wouldn't be realistic but it would fix that issue. The alternative model could be something like this, Witcher2.nexusmods.com just plain underwear, or some kind of clothing. The only thing would be its extreme unhistorical nature which would likely mean that it would cause some problems later when they actually cloth themselves.
SPOILERS AHEAD!!! I didn't warn about spoilers to The Witcher 2 before since that scene that the mod modifies is very early in the game.

I disagree with the cutscene idea. I am quite against cutscenes due to them being quite boring usually:( I would rather a system similar to that when you're leaving Abstergo in AC2 for a beginning portion of the game. Meaning that the player learns the basic controls and such. Also the world was filled with evil before the flood right? (otherwise God wouldn't have destroyed it) And there is barely any surviving documents of how it was back then... So, that leaves anyone that wants to make such a project a TON of freedom for making it VERY interesting. I mean the reason why AC is really popular is because they mix fiction with history. Now I don't want to mix too much fiction but some will be needed to keep the player interested, although I would rather have as many incredible real events as possible, (the events of Judges will be good:D) Anyways after the fall I would expect the next playable character to be either Cain AFTER he kills his brother and goes to build a city, or your own character that would be customizable. I mean the preacher could stop at the fall and later that day when the main character goes to sleep they have a dream of living in that time.

I wasn't too crazy about the cutscene idea either, if we could find a way to get past the nudity problem, we could do away with the cutscenes all together.

As much as I would want to make such a project it just isn't possible with just 2 people and I plan on working on a skyrim mod in the near future so I won't have time for this:(

What I would want is for the player to understand WHY God chose to destroy mankind, since a lot of people just think God was a douche, which he wasn't, and that's only when they assume that he existed... Anyways during that week the player would be able to explore ancient earth, and when the next (technically it should be Saturday, since neither Jesus or the early Christians could have changed it because they would have been labeled heretics) But since most of the world accepts going to church to be Sunday I think it might be better if church was indeed on Sunday in such a game, but I don't know... Anyways next time the main character goes to church the preacher will be talking about the flood so the player will follow Noah for a bit since he/she would have already learned about Noah thanks to the week of dreaming. Also the character that the player would play before the flood would get killed the night before church, I would want that part to be as open world as possible but some sacrifices would have to be made for development time:( Anyways during the second 2 sermon of the entire game the flood, the main events of babel, as well as the main events leading to the formation of Israel could be covered. (or would that be too much. I mean it could feel crammed:( so maybe a similar story as that of the first week?) Essentially, I think the best way of dealing with such a huge project would be to do what Assassin's Creed has done. Split the story into separate games. Each 1-3 weeks could be a full game and if done correctly it would be more than enough content to please the player. I like the decedent idea but I also think it would be neat to at least play some of the Judges or at least aid the Judges. Also I would want to make this as open world as possible giving the player at least some choices. (The Witcher has a very good amount of choices in my opinion and they actually feel like they matter, so something like that)

they have some issues that they are completely oblivious to... Like heightmaps in skyrim cannot be larger than about the size of skyrim and I really hope they don't release it on the steam workshop since one of my friends once told me that all mods on the skyrim nexus are bethesda property.

Also I messed up when I said nexus mods become Bethesda property. I meant the steam workshop, well I'm only human... Anyways the nexus is the place that mods shouldnhe uploaded to not the other way around.
