@ElfFriend: I think you're right in this case. Assuming it's your right arm, you might actually drop your weapon as well. Of course, sabers are very much under wraps, and we won't have a detailed analysis for people until much later (possibly after Phase 1. we aren't sure yet)

Now that I've given it some thought, I've gone ahead and purposefully allowed people to use whatever model they want. However, people will see the default model if it is not allowed.
Probably as replacements similar to MB2. I'm not certain as to what our policies are with modding JKG.
As I said before, sabers are currently in the gray area. Combat is indeed reworked. Both, but subject to change.
As a developer, let me thank everyone for their comments. It's been rough, sometimes going on for a few days at a time coding new functionality into the game without sleep, but when I see this outpour of positive comments, it makes it even more worth it.
UDK is also marred with loads of garbage teams which just want to make cash or a game in general without putting forth any effort whatsoever. I'd rather not even bother with UDK (plus I don't want to learn a whole new engine)
Sounds like you're on the right track. For GSA-specific mapping entities, you'll need the GSA SDK (which isn't out yet, but I'm working at it!)

Copying this from MBII's guide on how to install MBII (but the instructions for Gunslinger's Academy are virtually the same):
1. Same as the normal PC version, but you'll need to navigate to C:/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/Jedi Academy/GameData (yes, it's the same as the CD version, just in your Steam folder).
2. Extract the mod to GameData.
3. To run it, right click on Jedi Academy in your game library, and select "Set Launch Options" in the General tab
Add +set fs_game "baseGA" to it, and it will run GSA whenever you start Jedi Academy.
Note: If you play other mods or base, you will need to remove +set fs_game "baseGA" whenever you want to play that mod, then add +set fs_game "baseGA" whenever you want to play GSA.
Also launch Multiplayer. NOT singleplayer.
Reloading and hands are very much possible, the problem is that we're limited in our graphics department. But it is something that we're really looking into.

While we have no current plans to port Gunslinger's Academy to Q3, a lot of the features of Q3 (ie access to the renderer, networking, all that) are very desirable to us. The main issue at the moment with porting to Q3 is that we have very little content compared to a full game (we have few maps, no characters and no main menu UI started). Also, the EFX engine in JA is absent in Q3.
Yes, it does. In previous iterations they were pretty dumb, but in 2.4.4 they can make a pretty formidable opponent versus even a pretty seasoned player. Though they don't work too well in VIP Escort or CO-OP, which is a pity.
Download 2.4.0, then 2.4.1, then this patch.
Settings > Options > Crosshair Size
This makes your crosshair inaccurate when scaled for your gun's inaccuracy however (it gets bigger as you become less accurate when shooting)
This method works quite well. In fact, I might just use this type of render (with white, of course) for swap icons :D
