I am a project lead on Tales from the Galactopticon and I will fight you in real life.
You're quite hostile.
Thanks! Many of us are planning on careers in the games industry, and mods like this look good on a resume.
You need to extract the contents of the file.
I do all the music in FL Studio with plugins like Edirol Orchestral, NI Massive, Trilogy, and uTonic.
No, it's going to be linear.
You want them bigger or smaller?
Not quite as bad as I expected, but don't quit your dev job ;[
Love the texture work.
I love multiplayer, but a big drawback is you have to have a pretty large player base to be able to play whenever you want, and when people can't find servers any buzz the mod has tends to dissipate quickly. Whereas with a single-player mod, anyone can download it and play it whenever they want.
I'm actually not sure why more people don't do single-player mods, actually.
Good to hear, thanks for letting us know!
Love the concept, and the visuals look beautiful so far. Great work :)
Thanks! One of our coders is currently working on optimizing the impact effects.
Thanks dude! Keep at it!
his timbz do work
I've got lots of fond memories of TS. Great stuff!
Anyway, my mod has about 420 watchers last I checked, and I think it's mainly a result of consistently posting interesting new media, punctuated by news articles with dramatic screenshots and videos. We usually get big jumps in hits and watchers with each news post that way. I have no idea if 420 is a whole lot though, I don't spend much time looking around on here. Anyway, good luck!
Is it just me or does he look like Marlin from Finding Nemo?
That watcher thing is pretty crazy. Looks like you're doing good work. Don't get discouraged though, watcher attention on ModDB is hardly a barometer of quality or success.
********! Who doesn't want to be a dinosaur?
This is so awesome
Yeah, that's option two.
It's a small frigate. Crew would be like 15, I guess?
And the front end there is going to be transparent.
You have to press them. It could get pretty hairy otherwise.
Glad you like them! The best thing is they can be made in a matter of minutes, so you'll be seeing more.
Agreed. Fortunately we've been working some great new assets, including the hero character and his ship, so we should be able to make some badass new promo images soon.
Thanks a lot! You're right--there is a big influence from 90s adventure games, especially Monkey Island and The Space Bar and whatnot. One of our programmers is a huge adventure games fan and has been coming up with some great ideas for puzzles and scenarios.
Yeah, the 'ductfan helicopter' is a really old sci-fi trope that definitely predates avatar.
There's some! Halo comes to mind.
The gun never stops shooting. Never.
