Yes, the public beta has been released.
OMG YES! Twcenter.net
Personal update from the mod's leader KingKong!
It seems that he counts on the submod teams for TATW that they will keep this mod alive as long as they can. :)
Delete the map.rwm file in "Third_Age_3/data/world/maps/base" and it should work fine.
Post your problem there as detailed as possible, most of the time the solution is really simple but easy to overlook.
Install 3.0 first.
1- I don't think any submods are created by members of the origional mod, but i might be wrong.
2- There is one that has Dwarves based on the new hobbit films, but that one doesn't have permission to be released since it uses KingKong's models.
Other than that, modders await for the 2nd and probably 3rd film to come out before they got enough info about new units.
There is a discussion going on about the new hobbit models here: Twcenter.net
Faramir is a captain and he commands a small army of rangers.
Or you should read the actual instructions on the installation, it automaticly corrects that statement, and also 3.2 cant be the whole mod if 3.0 is already in 2 parts.
Well it would be usefull if you would install the actual mod and after that patch 3.1 and 3.2.
So far the only progress on TATW is in the submods section: Twcenter.net
Not if the other mod is mod-foldered like the Kingdoms campaigns.
Yeah there is plenty of people working hard on improving TATW, although it's not the official releases, they improve the mod in submods, and they are really great, some are of better quality than the main mod itself, which says alot. :)
I recommend MOS (Best and biggest submod out there atm but beware of longer AI turns.) and DaC when that mod is out. (Does alot more stuff than what MOS does, but not (yet) released.) Anyways, if you can't chose, just make multiple installations of TATW and play them all. ;)
Mods like these are impossible ever since Empire Total War came out.
Check these things:
- You have the Kingdoms expansion?
- Which version of M2TW do you have, retail or steam?
- You downloaded the main mod and the 2 patches?
- Did you read and folow the installation instructions here on the page?
Are you preparing for a big disapointment?
This, less outdated game engine and better graphics animations sounds and custom settlements are better modeled and textured.
Not possible since you will need a faction heir.
Well all i can say is redownload the mod or reinstall medieval 2.
Did you install the 3.1 and 3.2 patches?
Seems KingKong has retired, but on TWCenter alot of modders are still continueing TATW in form of submods, and they are not planning to stop for a long time yet. :)
Delete the descr_geography_new files in your Third_Age_3/data folder and it should stop crashing.
do you have the steam version?
Not dead yet on TWCenter at least.
By checking if you folowed the installation instructions correctly, if you have the kingdoms expansion for m2tw and if you downloaded 30 both parts and after that the 2 patches.
Like i said, you are the only one so far i have heared with these problems, even though the settlements are not meant to be played with for example 8 armies, i still can set up such a battle without any crashes basicly, i often play Minas Tirith against 3 enemy armies.
I have heared of it yes, and i kinda help testing it because it is part of the Divide and Conquer submod, which is in it's final testing phase now. I can say that it's really awesome!
I did play MOS alot but i kinda lost interest in it, probably because they use an outdated version of the new Divide and Conquer campaign map.
I think the problem is that you ignored the warnings that custom settlements are made for 1v1 in custom battles... Only in the campaign map they actually work with multiple incomming armies.
Agreed everyone should get submods to increase their good experience in this mod. :)
I think that you are just one of the few who have those random crashes with custom settlements, because there is litterally no report of it in the TWCenter TATW sections.
I think in this case the problems are more on your end with your PC than on the mod's end.
Also, 3.2 seems to be pretty much the last version, although it's not certain untill the maker comes back, he always surprises tons of people so im not losing hope yet. :)
And if 3.2 is the last version, then submods will continue the great work on it.
