There have been quite a few but it's still something to do in the future. We have an idea of what to do next but seemign we've just released gamma we'll be fixing that first. Same with the Iron curtain I guess.

I'm actually a Melbournian too and am studying games design at VU. Sadly I didn't get a ticket to the freeplay talks (sold out) and I didn't know experimedia was free or else I would have come and had a chat.
I was suprised to see the mod up on their website listed as a demo, good job.

RA: A Path Beyond
It is already free to play. It's a standalone mod using the C&C renegade engine. That means you don't need C&C Renegade to play it, because it's self contained. (Yes we have permission)
This is correct, with some minor modifications which the westwood renders had.
The earth is still WIP :p Well the whole night sky is, seeming the engine defaults it to an earth sky, it still has an atmosphere.
And the earth still has the halo around it, which would not be present.
I think we were going to go with an actual 3d model of the earth and not a 2d plane or at least get some updated nasa images :p

It has been modeled and was being used as a prop in a map. But the (then) leader of the mod, halo38 left. Dunnoif it'll make a return, probably will but not for a long time.
Do you remember which issue, if you can remember? or if you mean a previous issue thats mentioned on our website.

This game has some pretty crazy things so no breathing apparatus for infantry isn't too bad :p

Yes, Turkey was an an allied nation, not directly (that we know of) but supported them. This map takes place near turkey (would be todays georgia) on the border of the USSR. which would explain why there are bases there, why they are fighting (border control+oil and supplies) etc. :p

Not for awhile. Testers are getting a new internal test build this week sometime, but we've still got lots to do.
The pipeline is a map prop which infantry can climb on using ladders (yet to be added) which will lead to small maintenance shacks which sit on top of the pipeline, giving a little cover for infantry.
Red alert 1 plus it's two expansions.

People wanted a bit of change in the scenery, we either have green grass or snow and ice :p
We figured a deserty type map would be fun to make and fit in well with the story. Seeming things were mentioned around the eastern Mediterranean (Greece, Turkey) we thought the oilfields near the black sea would have been the eastern front in RA1 great war.
War did take place in the middle eastern areas in both our WWI and WWII so it does work. Soviet expansion into allied controlled oil fields etc. Just a bit of fun :p
Yes, it should be good for tank combat but there will be a lot of cover for infantry with some safe routes.
Once bought helicopters fly in from off map and land next to the helipad where you can get in. It takes about 10 seconds for it to land after being purchased.
If you cany buy one you either don't have enough credits, the helipad has been destroyed or the helicopter limit for your team has been reached.

Once we have an initial release we'll see if a torrent is needed to lighten the load on server mirrors.
