Hello all. I am a new mapper/modder on ModDb. I play most valve games, mainly a Portal/Portal 2 mapper, though. I hope to release plenty of mods for everybody. Currently, (and for a while now) I have been searching for free modeling programs that can be used to make new weapons, if you know of one that I can download please leave a comment or message. I just finished Thinking with Portals 2 and its was great. The only downside is that the lighting is to bright, but other than that it's great.
I think you might be able to use Source SDK to make your own weapons, but I'm not sure.
I think you can use Maya and 3DS Max for making some models.
