Thanks for all the work put into this.

I have a couple of questions, though;

How many units are there in this mod?

And are there other mods like this one out there, but with different units?

Downloading individual units and then configuring various files for every single one is a bit of work when you want as many as possible.

So, are there any modders or people who have already done this for the extreme amount of units that exist for Total Annihilation? Or compilations with new units to add ontop of the existing ones?

5 minute edit limit -- had to post another post.

Relating to the berry question;
Is it possible (Or rather, does the editor support.) to easily change the directory, or group of items that the color calls upon? If so, is it possible to make several items spawnable, based upon their individual spawn % in both a single tile and over several tiles? (Based on the color area in the editor, that is.)

IE; if you set a single tile to host 5 different items, each with 10-25% to spawn, nothing else would spawn until the item was either removed or destroyed.

But if you set 5 tiles to host the 5 different items, every tile would host one. Whether the 15-25% spawn rate applies to the individual tile or for all the 5 tiles would be up to whoever edits it.

Dj_Sparky - - 12 comments @ Hello. Hello. We are the Modding tools.

Hey. I was wondering about something regarding this;

"Using this new tool it'll be easy to quickly generate huge areas of wilderness - with moddable rules for exactly what tile combinations can appear on your lovingly placed colours. For example, adding berry plants for people to forage will just be a case of adding them as a low probability tile that can appear on a certain type of foliage."

How about changing the berry plants? Is this possible, without deleting or removing the berry plants?

Basically, is it possible to add new models, textures, or content in general to the editor? And, after that, the game?

I haven't tried the mod myself, but based on the pictures and your mention of how many different models there are, it sounds like a truly remarkable mod. I remember that you even had hundreds, or lots of different models several months ago.

How is this possible? Do you have a huge team that figured out a secret way to easily import and export meshes/models or something? Cause I have yet to come across any other mods for Skyrim that comes anywhere remotely close to the amount of new monsters, meshes, or completely new models for Skyrim.

And every model seems to be extremely well made, very creative, and with lots of attention to detail. How?

For those having problems with the mod: If you go into the Earth At War folder in your FOC Mod directory, you'll notice that Art, Audio, Scripts, Text, XML, are sitting there. Make a data folder, and put all the folders in that folder.

The art, audio, scripts, text, XML folders should then be located in the data folder, similar to, depending on your installation base, the following: C:\Program Files(x86)\Star Wars Empire At War Forces Of Corruption\Mods\Earth-at-war\Data

What does the number of new content signify, such as 108 new elite monsters? Do you mean 108 unique new models for 108 new, different monsters, or 108 monsters with 1, or various new models, with different statistics, or 108 added spawnpoints for existing monsters?

Same with armor, weapons, dungeons.. What exactly does the numbers mean? And does anything replace any vanilla content, or is it added in addition to vanilla?

I suppose this has been asked before -- do you have any plans for a trial or a demo? The game looks really interesting and awesome, but I'd like to try it before buying.

I wonder if people who complain, and more specifically, the ones who get angry about delays have considered how serious the release of a game (Especially alpha and beta releases, which need to be refined and polished to near release quality products nowadays in order to get "approved".) is for the creators, and the brand. In the case of independant developers, their reputation, their jobs, perhaps even their dream are on the line.

Releasing any type of content that isn't ready is rarely a good thing. Regardless of any statements about "alpha", "beta", "work-in-progress" in a situation like this, people will rarely take those things into consideration.

Due to the precedents set by previous releases, if you guys released RC3 tomorrow, it would have to be better and more polished than the previous releases. (Or atleast on par.) If not, I think the "fans", gaming sites, etc. would start treating it as garbage. Project Zomboid as a brand/IP and game would be ruined.

But I hope that you guys make it. It seems like you deserve it.

The character related things does not *sound* very appealing to me, but perhaps the civilization customization makes it all flow very nicely and enjoyably.

Choosing one perk out of several per level, temporary loot and getting entirely new sets of spells every 3 or so levels sounds like it could make the player-character feel temporary; like it's merely a tool used to progress, a cog, and not something that is worth getting attached to.

While that statement could be applied to pretty much every character in any game, it's the sense of ownership that matters.

Designing challenges around the idea of making the player form an 'emotional' attachment to the character and its progress (Loot, attributes, etc.) is such an important system in the design of even a single game that it can carry an otherwise bad game on its own, and make it seem good/great. If done right, of course.

Regarding the Mage spells - I think players want to feel like they have a lot of choice at all times. They need to know that they can open up a menu and access several new, or old spells if they wanted. A rigid system with few options for customization rarely works well, and tends to defeat the purpose of playing a videogame; enjoying the gameplay.

Letting the player choose, and showing him all the possible content and variables, but limiting his choices to such a degree seems to defeat the enjoyment the system set out to support in the first place.

Obviously, there has to be rules and limits; balancing the customization system inline with the other systems in the game, while maintaining the overarching layer of incentivizers (Making the player want to get better items, or to improve the stats of his character, by gameplay design and rules, and so forth.) that needs to sync up well with all the other systems and variables is probably a very hard task.

I'm not a game designer, though, and these are just my opinions.

Hasn't this been out for several years, though? It's part of the series Cultures.

Or are you referring to something else?

Wow, that's ingame, right? Wow. And you are in direct control of your character, like in other 2D platformers (Ie Mario style.)?

That really does look awesome -- but how does the character/enemy animation look against such a background/world?

There really aren't enough side scrollers/2D platformers with unique graphics like this.
