Noooo! I actually don't like this; capping bravo is the mark of a good team. After B, C is a walk in the park, but B is damned tough to get. If you're part of a team that can cap B, either you're on a damned good team, or the other team sucks.

Try adding a phong exponent to the hand, perhaps?
See if you can decompile the Alyx model from EP2 and check out how they did her skin.
Also look into frensel shader effects.

Very true.
If you're in the mood to learn, brush up on smoothing groups, and consider beveling the edges on the hood.
Also, you might consider learning nurbs modeling (or some other sort of spline or curve-based modeling) and then converting that to polies when you finish.
