dissonance (tm), as seen on tv, mapcore and interlopers.
******' ace, dude. You have some really weird atmosphere going here, and I like it.
I understand you're going for a completely abandoned area, right? Either change the default soundscapes or write your own - gunfire doesn't spontaneously go off if there's nobody around to pull the trigger.
Also, PLEASE de-interlace your video before you upload it.
My grandpa lost his virginity in a combine.
Gotta love hicks, eh?
I'll be able to die a happy man if I can somehow compile Source mods with GCC.
...also how did that happen?
...how was I the first one to post this?
From a thematic/artistic standpoint, this is my favourite setpiece of the entire mod.
**** dude, this is incredible. Seriously, it's amazing.
I really, really wish there were mods like this. There's like twenty people I want to buy HL2 for so they can play this.
I'm tempted to whip up some props for you, like letters and boxes and such.
Weapon looks really familiar... Insurgency?
Nope, still here.
"Still waters run deep."
Indeed, this is damned nice.
**** THAT ****, I would never want to fight that.
NAZI DINOSAURS, ******* AWESOME
...any proof of this?
Do a google for "DeSty gun xsi tutorial" and eat your words, please.
Keeps looking better and better.
let's do this?
Sad to hear =(
As for your efforts to make the source code public: please do. I don't think there is a single person in the modding community who isn't interested in seeing how you got the wall-walking working.
Need any help with the playtesting?
Cubemaps ain't gonna do anything if the map isn't lit.
Oh, the nostalgia.
Soooo waiting for this
PICK UP THAT DRUMSTICK
Same, this is a really ******* good shot.
I can't wait to show this image to my stoner friends and watch them wait for minutes for the image to load.
Not always; there are a fair amount of firearms that are either ambidextrous or converted for southpaws.
**** THE HATERS, do it!
Looks pro, son.
I was going to lambaste you for not reading the comments, then I remembered that this issue was addressed way back on page nine or ten: the soldiers are only there for target practice. They're just dummies, not at all indicative of the final product.
Which gun is that, the SCAR? That's a FN, too, if I recall correctly.
...on a crazy train
don't diss sketchup, it's a damn fine modeling program
tu-160 i think, usaf calls it the blackjack
hahaha i love how even the birds are joining in
(derp, replied to the wrong comment)
**** the haters, bro; you know you didn't steal it. just shrug off what they say and keep on truckin'.
creative brushwork; me gusta.
I agree, you don't need to apologize for anything here. It's your mod, add what YOU want to it. **** what the haters think.
the eye openings in the balaclava are angled too far downward; imo they need to be more furrowed, to create the illusion of an angry/menacing expression.
yup, i'm working on it again!
IF it moves.
It reminds me of the brainbug from the end of Starship Troopers for some reason.
a long row of minecarts with a single section of track resting on top?
It's called constructive criticism, bro, and some of us appreciate it.
IMO the ambient light is way too high. Crank that down to maybe 25% of what it is right now and see how it looks.
another swedish mod! awesome.
Reminds me of raindrop crossed with insurgency... kinda.
What makes you think the Combine rely only on synths?
Hit me up on AIM or Interlopers and I'll give you some help.
Mapping on a budget!
Can you enlarge your soundcard's buffer through the driver? Granted, you will lag a bit, but the quality will be upped.
Turn that text into a model!
I... I... words. No words.
I don't get it.
The railing by the staircase looks about four times as thick as it needs to be.
I was just about to say that.
Holy ****, a Gamasutra interview... you're certainly moving up in the world.
Consider releasing a very small map-pack, focusing on one or two aspects per map.
Are you going to consider open-sourcing any of the maps you made?
Reminds me of Max Payne.
I see desks like these in Uni all the time, and they don't fall apart.
They are uncomfortable as HELL, though.
I wonder who keeps downvoting my comments.
Hehe, neither can I.
You're welcome =D
It's not bugging, no worries.
No, I'm actually American. =D
This looks fantastic!
Ah yes, the good 'ol "HOW DID I GET TO THIS POINT?" Hammer clusterfuck.
Looks interesting, though. Heh.
And I agree with pupkin - you don't need all those info_nodes.
Oh, png, good call.
Without giving too much away, "hiss" means "elevator."
Thanks for watching Everything Dies; I greatly appreciate it!
Thanks for watching Everything Dies; I greatly appreciate it!
I like that little comic strip thing you have going on up top, too.
One suggestion: don't use pure black for the grout around the bricks; use a darker shade of the color you used for the bricks' base.
"Another thing I want to have in 1.2 is the feature to allow mappers to replace the props Suiciders control."
Ooo, interesting idea. Something like crates in a HL1 level? Boxes in a warehouse? Milk cartons in a grocery store?
This whole man vs. prop idea sounds amazingly extensible.
Is that smoldering wood or heavily rusted metal down there in the bottom left?
Either way, looks damn good.
It looks exactly like the one in Insurgency.
Same here; it's one of the reasons I chose to map this city. Interestingly enough, almost every aspect of this city seems to have been planned out around the rule of thirds. I'm not sure if it was planned this way or simply materialized, but it really tripped me out when I discovered it.
Some people are left-handed.
I like the visual effect for the jump, looks nice.
Lookin' damned good, keep it up!
That, and the weapon itself looks a little large.
Either that or the chick is small.
Can't wait to play this, dude.
Oh wow, that's a pretty sweet effect.
A loading screen?
(edit: oh wait, test-textures? haha witty!)
the only gripe i have - and it took me a while to come up with one - is that you're using the same texture for the ground and the ceiling. this doesn't happen a lot in meatspace. that texture will work as both, so you're gonna have to make a semi-tough decision as to where to use it.
Haha, welcome to the LAUSD.
Loads like a P-90?
Thanks for watching Everything Dies, sir! I appreciate it.
That ceiling doesn't really fit in.
Too small! Looks good, but I want to see more.
I don't feel well enough about what I have so far to release any more of it than I already have, but yes, I have made progress.
Hey, sorry I've been lagging on the testing lately. I've had some important stuff come up in my personal life, and most everything has taken a back seat. Hopefully all this **** will blow over soon, and I can get back to my mapping and testing.
Yeah... they do seem a little too small.
Thanks for the watch, sir!
The combine soldiers are just there right now for target practice.
