Is the US/UK version a real requirement (because of something I cannot remember - did not play Morrowind for a long time now) or is it just to avoid a language mix?

Thanks, I will give it a try.

For now I found a solution:
1. Run Crossfire to get the latest update.
2. Use original Freelancer.exe to connect to the server.

It is not very nice - but it works.

That is not 100% correct.
If I run the server on the same computer as Crossfire, I have no problems to join that server using Crossfire.

The problem is, that my server does not show up in the server list if it runs not on the same computer as Crossfire.
But that seems to be a Freelancer problem because this also happens if I try it with the default Freelancer server and the original Freelancer.exe.
The solution is to append the mentioned parameter to the exe file - and that is not supported by Crossfire!

What about a little update to enable this feature?

Is there a way to pass server to Freelancer while using Crossfire?

I'm running a private server that does only appear in the server list when it's passed to Freelancer using the "-sIp:Port" parameter.
But this does only work with the original Freelancer.exe.
If I try it with the Freelancer.exe that came with Crossfire my server does not show up in the server list.

You can run Steam on Linux using Wine - Portal 1 and Portal 2 are working well with that (like most other Steam games I own).

I have a problem with the resolution. First, the mod started in window-mode with 16:10 and the resolution was something with 19xx(I wasn't able to see the hole number because my screen was to small). I fixed it with a double-click on the window-frame.
The second problem, which is my real problem, is that I can't set the AA to 16.
I set te resolution to 1280x1024(4:3-screen) and fullscreen-mode, what works well. But if I try to set AA to 16, the game starts with the resolution 640x480. Everything under 16(I use 8 now) does work.
