if youre playing LA on r1 on high settings, check this weather preset in console:

sv_setweather 2003

there are many test presets in environment.ltx :)

this was my all-time-favorite :)

his stay time in pripyat was even raised with 3rd patch, but i could always go there and trade even with the unpached version, and in older builds. I usually got the info to meet him after i killed the monos in pripyat, and i was near the 4pillar building, which is close enough.

LA is still wip (work in progress),but first of all, we are creating a game which we wanted to make, comparing it to stalker games is a bit harsh, especially when all of them were created from million+ usd budget, while LA was created for free with lazy, family-guys :)
You can't even compare LA with other stk mods, when none of us shared the same resources or knowledge base. We still hope you enjoyed your play in the game.

reinstall the base game, since fsgame.ltx is missing, which is an important file for the game. only the base game installs that, patches does not change it.

Currently we have 5 longer, and some shorter ones + all the sidetasks which you havent finished during the story playthru. Also you can join freedom and whatnot, but this part will be expanded later in updates.

fortunately you are not forced to use cars only once in the beginning in the whole game :) you can even avoid that if you have some grenades to blow up the gate which otherwise you'd hit with the car.

we will supply the scripts for nearly all dialogs we recorded in game (nearly all, because sometimes we changed them a bit, and didnt update the text, but it should be easy to find out). we also gave these scripts to those who decided to create translations or decided to redub the game.

Haven't said the game is finished, however most of the render problems are hardware related, which we can not fix with our current HR, but they are on the todo list. :)

Speaking of the cloud shadows. They are controlled by weather files, we set them that fast, maybe its not so nice, who knows when you can not please everyone. It's easy to change, but its not bug, nor a feature, so I would not list it in the changes log.

Ai is an other thing, there are some tasks where we needed to restrict them, which some people accept or like, others don't. Some people caught the idea or the feeling what we wanted, others just want to run thru quickly and kill everything that moves.

The weather is working fine with 3rd patch, check the console, and you will see it has anything other than "indoor" preset (if not then either youre using older mods or bugged mods, or unpacked gamedata with older content). The dynamic weather changes, except for users who run thru the maps quickly, since the weather tends to change in every hour, and if you enter an other level while you have an active preset, the timer restarts. Still, it has 24hr cycle / presets, and we have more than 6 of them.

So as I wrote many times, we are actively working on the game to make it better, till then, try to enjoy what we could do with our current knowledge, we will surely update the game as soon as we learn how to fix the dx10 render issues, which some people have, while others don't. About content you mentioned, we created a game we wanted to have, and we are always open for suggestions, but we will carefully sort the incoming mass of requests and ideas to not to ruin our concept. We will release the SDK soon, so anyone can change the population of the areas for their liking. :)

So far we only had to fix the handling of white niva, and a few little scratches, so not sure when it should be released. If we start to expand alife, that will need new game again, so that might come a bit later, when the mayority finished playing thru the current version.

Meanwhile we are working on releasing the SDK for the game, so anyone who knows how to handle the xray sdk-s will be able to make proper alife mods, or any kind of stuff for the game.

those can be ripped from earlier builds, but as far as i can remember we haven't deleted any unused stuff from the game :) you can find nearly 100 testlevels, many sounds, models and stuff if you unpack the db-s.

it was made on purpose. learn game design and you will understand why and what we did. in our storyline labs are locked down, and ppl are trying to find someone who can go down and do specific tasks. it would be immerse breaker to add any kind of faction wandering down there. if anyone can go down, theres nothing special about them.

that wouldnt speed up the game unfortunately, they all go offline when you are far enough. the vegetation and static objects are the real killers... and ofc the size of the level itself.

you tried to load a savegame which was created with 1.3001 or 1.3002. The latest patch is not savegame compatible, unfortunately, but thats how xray works.

because our modelers were lazy to fix it, and i used my modeling knowledge which is just above zero to fix the trunk, and the car uses wrong config file. it can be fixed with modding, but we also added it to the todo list.

search better :) i posted a short msg on gsc forums a month ago about hidden obj amount in la, its incredibly huge, and i tried to hide everyting pretty well. if you like to explore, you can find everything in the zone, you dont even need to use traders, since more than 300 wpns are hidden on the 30 levels, and around 200 medpacks :D not to mention the other objects, like 50+ armors etc.
