Thats all the info we needed :) Seems the weapon is still usable for AI as well, -even though its a quest item- and they do pick it up randomly, and when you kill the guy who has the wpn, the game will crash, because the weapon/item is not listed in ranks. Will fix it, but for now, plz avoid that quest to be able to carry on.

SDK: En.wikipedia.org
It wont fix anything, but lets people make their own mods for LA, or for other stalker games.

All renders were changed, and our levels are at least 2x bigger in size, at least 5x bigger in detail than SoC levels, and the physics object count is ca. 5x more (just compare soc spawn size with la spawn size). These all have relation to the performance. So why should it run as good as SoC on low end computers? :)

can you send us a savegame and provide more info? seems like the quest marker wont update, but it works here, so we would need a save for sure, and the list of mods you use, if you use any.

you are playing the 1.3000 (base) game. Install the (latest) patch to solve this. It needs new game.

its possible to do, you just need to convert the configs-scripts from soc to la due to changes in lua engine, decompile soc maps , update the spawns in la level editor (and use la xrai to make new graphs and spawns), and compile the levels with la xrlc (level builder/compiler). Takes some days or maybe a week for an experienced modder, but doable. I can imagine soc maps running much faster on la engine than on soc engine version.

It will be released later this week. We wanted to share it on our site, but our hosting partner blocked the downloads, so we will share it thru moddb (1.4gb installer pack) and hopefully someone will help to make torrents as well.

1.3003 patch does not contain gamedata folder, so make sure you are playing the original patched game, seems like a mod, or localisation is causing trouble for you. You might need to reload an earlier patch if you used mods. Let me know how it works.

we will add it to downloads here too after we get a working installer, or we need to repack it, because the installer does not find the game, and creates subdirs.

yes it seems, try to check if you skipped something which would avoid that. no one ever reported this before. we checked the files, all conditions are there, which work fine. also make sure you are not using outdated mods on the game. conflict between files can make such errors too.

there were problems with the old guy, like he did not come close to the player etc due to enemies nearby (solution was to kill them all till npc goes back to normal state from alerted one).

True multicore support? A fairy tale. You will never see proper mcs in xray 1.0, and it's because the core was written in 2001-2, when multicore wasnt even planned. We tried, and could implmenet partial support, but thats all we could do. It does not mean some genius guys wont be able to implement it later, just im trying to keep it real. Who would spend a some years on rewriting the whole engine core just for fun. The younger modders who have time for it, don't have the knowledge and HR, the older ones who could do it are probably looking for a paid job to be able to live in this cruel world. LA's engine is already much faster than it was a year, or 2 years ago. If we would make the levels 3x smaller with 5x less content, then it would run as fast as SoC, but those who want that should probably play SoC. The best way to compare is to move some unmodified levels from SoC to LA engine, though it does not matter if you can play SoC levels with 60 or 90 fps.

Hopefully before, just fighting with our new hosting partner, because they are blocking our downloads menu all the time, we got 150gb free space, yet we can't host anything. THe sdk installer is around 2gb packed. We are thinking on torrents too, just want to make it a bit more official, so ppl would know we uploaded it, and it's not a 3rd party tool.

I have 5770 and I experience the flickering on dx10 render, as I heard ati cards below the hd7k series have this issue, could be driver too, I never tried to roll back to older ones, always grabbed the newest. I'm planning to get a new vga soon, still not sure which wouldb the best choice.

the difference between low and high is the amount and resolution. although its barely visible with naked eye, im usually playing with medium, high eats too much fps. Also there is the switch "shadow_cascade_old" which adds back the old rendering method, which gives a big boost on fps, but the edges of shadows will be crispy.

about the colors: yep, dx10 is much more colorful, feels like when we turned on the "paradise" setting on old farcry1, it makes the colors more saturated, and somehow it creates a nice atmosphere, which I like too.
