Yes, if you play long enough like Tejas did, but the same applies for LA as well, you can read Tejas's stories on gsc forums and facebook.

We will try to finetune this later to make these events more common.

Same here, I have a very old ati hd5770, and LA runs pretty good on dx10/11 if settings calibrated properly. Well ofc, I don't have 60+ fps, but I'm just fine with ~30.

Also make sure you don't use shadowmap on max, since it creates 8k shadow resolution, which is insane high, even compared to the game engines nowdays. In any stk game by default its 1k resolution, and you could only increase it with command line to 4k. Actually I'm using that on medium, which is 4k, but on low its actually not low, its the same as it was in any other stalker game and it was enough.

If you turn on grass shadow while using 8k shadowmap, it will definitely slow the game down.

I wouldn't do that :D Just imagine b1935 (and most of the mods) had no smarts or gulag system at all, mutants were just spawned randomly on the levels with no brain control, which caused lots of trouble since the ai has programmed grouping behavior, so they always unite. It was ok until tasks and story scripts were added, but only till then. Most of the old mods did the same, including our priboi story project as well. We spawned sh*tloads of mutants randomly on the maps, and they all moved in big hordes. Some people liked it, but most of them didn't.

We doubled the alife amount already, but did it properly. Creating madness is easy, managing them properly is the real "thing".

I'd call SoC static, since they only moved after the player reached the power plant, but since it was a point of no return, these extra events were only revealed by mods which added the possiblity of returning from the NPP as well. I'd say, LA is between SoC and CS in activity, but it still can be improved.

Not sure if moving groups were included in the release version or not, but there are at least 2 to 4 groups on each level which move randomly as the time goes by and the player's progress also changes. Also most of the groups are set free as soon as the player reaches a certain story event, then those groups start to move to north.

compared to certain mods or clear sky, it might look a bit empty, we tried to achieve the atmosphere of the classic stalker movie. Still, it's not that "dead"... but the next update will bring more life and action since people requested it.

We know all this hatered and enviness comes from that fact some groups including us got certain stuff years earlier than others. As I said in my previous post, we got the materials with signing NDA, we kept our words, didn't want trouble, so we never leaked anything which was not allowed. Those who got access to such materials were probably worth for it due to the projects they worked on. It's not our or those fault that for example LA was interesting to them, and they helped us in any way they could. Anyone -and really. anyone- had the possiblity to make something new (which means anyone couldve gotten access to these who could show something worthy to them when they were still working on stalker), but it's always easier to throw the mud and do the unnecessary ****** talks. That's what really poisons any kind of community.

The engine was given to certain groups (who really loved stalker, and spent too many years working on them and were experienced enough to be able to work with that, ah and could showcase something which convinced gsc) with non-disclosure-agreement, some of them were too young and unresponsible to be able to handle such "material", it was just a matter of time it would leak. We were in discussion with gsc about our next commercial project being made on that engine, later it became obsolote since it was leaked, the engine is old, and cant really compete with unreal or cryengine or unity which are much cheaper to use. Now that its leaked, anyone can use it for modding for free, its good for educational purposes, but no one will be able to release commercial product based on xray engine, but I don't think that would happen since there are many more free and sandbox 'wysiwyg' type engines these days.

Also these continuous leaks while made the modding community happy, also ruined lots of connections on the other side. We were in talks to convince them to release the engine with gnu and officially, probably it will be done later, since its still unofficial leak, illegal ....but who cares... its 2015!

Will check on it, if it was really changed, it was probably changed for a reason, but would need to ask the one who changed it. Also make sure youre playing the official LA release, not a repack, which contains more bugs than extras/addons.

Render engine is all connected to each, since all was changed. Dx10 was bugged due to having an unfinished dx11 port in it for example. This one is like a huge jenga.

Without insight you can never be sure. As for asking for help on reddit, now we see it was a bad move, but seeing others also asked for help for their mods, we gave it a try. I'm too old maybe, but never used reddit before, saw Tejas made some posts, and asked him to post our recruiting news there as well. We had/have open jobs (even paid ones) here on moddb, and on our main site, but since february, only 2 person contacted us, and they were too young with near zero responsibility, so they simply vanished after a few days. It's much harder to find experienced people with free time nowdays. Free time is what people don't have as they grow up, and start to work for example, since they want to live, and have other free time activities instead of trying to please and feeed the biggest black hole.

Some people are living because they are tired of the agressive sick kids who rule the internet, other people are leaving because they think LA was finished with the 3rd patch, and they want to work on something new. We are working on an unannounced title as well on an other engine since even if we got xray for our next project, after some guys decided to leak the sources of the engine as well, it became useless to work on it. But some of us are still here and trying to make the fans happy, those who are still interested.

To be honest I was never expected such comment from you, but maybe as time goes by youngs grow up and have enough ego to bite the old. currently nope, stashes are activated via picked infoportions. we have nearly 200 of them, would need to activate all one by one. the upcoming DC should deliver better stashes system.

make sure you really installed the latest 1.3003, cause it wipes out the previous bins folder which required the player to install vcredist 2013. also make sure you downloaded the game from official source, such as moddb or the torrent linked on top.

they said in a recent interview, that they were thinking on rebooting the stk franchise, but the current/remaining team would rather work on strategy games. I guess they will need more members to be able to relaunch such a sensitive project.

You can disable minimap with editing the corresponding xml file in gamedata\config\ui\ dir. You can disable headbobbing with editing the effectors.ltx in config\misc\ dir. Wpn bobbing is the old wpn movement we coded in, without it the wpn is just static in your had like in SoC, it doesnt 'bob' as you move. Actor's leg is an unfinished feature, if we decide to finish it, it will have sound for footsteps too, and different legs matching the armor you wear... but we don't have exctra hr at the moment, still looking for new talents.

why spamming this page with nonsense error reports? first of all, tell us which game are you playing, which version, which mods, attach an error log, and tell us more about your problem, because we dont have such for sure. Maybe the 1st early access version had such bug when someone wanted to enter bar area, but it was fixed with the 2nd patch, and we have a 3rd already. So be so kind, and if you demand help, help us with info first.
