You should install the game outside of program files dir, because of UAC, it wont let you change or edit preferences. (install it somewhere like C:\games\Lost Alpha ...etc or D:\ or anywhere)

ALso make sure youre playing with the official release applied with the latest patch. Other repacks or edited files can cause crashes. If you experience crash to desktop, navigate to your gamedir \appdata\logs subdir and send us a log.

Still, it can be caused by the mod, since we can not reproduce this error in 1.3003, not even with the new wip 1.3004. The mod you linked is a huge compilation of varios mods made for LA, it even has modified exes, and whatnot, and reading the comments, it's not bug free at all.

In order to help we also need you to help us out with info. Which version are you playing? from where did you download it? was it official release or a repack (which is usually modded and modified)? we havent met this kind of issue during the testing, and no one reported it so far. Send us a savegame, and a log, we will check it. You can also reload an earlier save and try, but still, send us the save so we can see what is going on :)

I was the one who designed the level, so I knew where to jump and where to go :) Maybe we could raise the timer a bit, but then the whole game would be too easy overall.

We included a very detailed documentation in LA sdk :) By the way, do you really want to help us with LA:DC? ...because we need experienced people and you said you have a team to join up, but no sign of it yet. Yes, he remains there in freeplay mode. During the story mode you can meet him for a short period of time when you first arrive to pripyat and clean the streets. Thats when the game sends a note about him.

Probably that mod is causing it which you're using because its not compatible with 1.3003. If you still want to use that mod with LA, make sure its supported by 1.3003, or try to find a newer version of it, possibly on gsc forums. It surely has a readme file, which contains the contact info of the author of the mod.

If you put everything on max, and play on dx10.1, it should look the same, however in the newest video we used unreleased content (skyboxes, and weather settings) which is the reason why it looks different.

Technically we set that players will at least see 1-2 blowout(s) until they finish the game. -We made the 1st blowout mod in 2007 spring, but since then it became a bit boring. Why do people want 100 blowouts in a row on a single level is a big mistery to me. Probably because they got used to them in other mods which had other goals.- As I wrote in my previous post the blowouts are bound to conditions, and once the conditions are met and blowout happens, the game won't let it happen until you reach an other condition on an other level. I also wrote, this can be changed.

I'm not really good at yelling, but blowouts in LA are just ok. Why? In the original game we had only 2 scripted surges, in many mods they overdo it with adding one daily or more. In LA it's not just random, but it has conditions set too, which the player needs to reach in order to let the engine calculate these random blowouts. Maybe it's a bit over-secured, we can change that, but technically it's not bugged, so it cannot be fixed, just changed. If you tell us what you want to change in it, we can help.

these props are available individually in almost all officially released sdks, so its easy to make such "garbage hills" anywhere, however this one was exported from maya together with the hill object for easier handling.

No bug there, you just did things in a wrong order. Do as the tasks say, and you will be fine. The shaft is a trap, use the stairway! ...but for that, you need to do the tasks first.

its there, almost in the end, however the game runs fine in 1920x1080 without trouble, even on higher resolutions. I'd say, your problem might be driver related. Also you can try to delete user.ltx, and game will start in R1 static mode with default 1024x768 and you can change your settings manually as you wish in the menu.
