Roughly speaking, our hybrid engine can be seen as a branch of the same tree that soc belongs to, just heavily updated. To tell the most important parts: we ported the dx10-11 renders from cop and adapted to the soc mechanics. We reviewed the shaders in order to support all those effects cop would offer. We also introduced the same weapon system and developed a brand new ui. We modified many little aspects of the engine as well just to name a few: the inventory handling and system, openable car doors, fuel handling and trunk, pda (including chat with npcs, and games), npc headlights stay on when they die, and hundreds of small tweaks we wanted in. This is reflected by a new set of API available in scripts. We improved many routines with SSE instructions, mostly particles effectors. And we took more advantage of the multi core architectures. Both in renders and in some other calculations. If I remember well, the git has several thousand of commits since 2010, and our coders added more than 10k lines of new code during the years.

Test levels werent designed for campaign mode. They are chunks of the levels (or earlier versions), where we tested geometry, and various ideas. Other testlevels contained parts of the story quests, or scenes, which we wanted to test before added them to the game.

its alive, and the production speed is the same as before, unfortunately we cant assign more time to it, than before. It will be released as soon as its finished, till then, the good thing is, 1.3003 is out for long, and stable enough to play with it till DC release!

yes, keeping too many saves can cause trouble, but mainly the quicksaves are the ones which can cause trouble, as it never worked flawlessly in the old soc engine. Creating hardsaves (either from console with command save <name of your save>, or from main menu) will never let you down :)

Its part of the game. If you kill the neutral Sin in cordon, it has consequences. But if you read your PDA often, you can spare a lot of time, as it tells you to talk to barkeep then petrenko to smooth out the problems for money. This way, you'll have a shorter storyline though, but you can still visit those levels, which will be skipped from story tasks.

We added it in engine, but can't go into details, im not good in c++, and it was very long ago :) Yes, you can use the nightvision in 3rd person mode. We wanted to limit it to 1st person mode only, but decided to keep it for all, as others like to play from tps mode too.

When the game came out, it was necessary to install visual c redistributable 2005-8-10-12, but after the 1st patch, we reduced it to 2005-8 only, which the game installs. Since you got this problem, it means you havent downloaded any patch yet! Download the 1.3003 (3rd) patch from here, and all will be ok.

Cant really do anything unless we would be able to test it with SLI on our own. This can be hw specific issue or anything, unfortunately we dont have HR, nor money to invest in such things.

unfortunately its not official release, so we cant help with debugging it. all i can say, the original release has no such problems.

if you check this moddb page, it has torrent link too on the top right corner. download that + grab the 1.3003 patch also from here, and you wont have such troubles :)

Hi, if you install the proper localisation for the proper patch, nothing should go wrong, although we have no idea about the current state of localisations, as they are never sent to us directly, so we can not upload them here for example.

The battery thing was finetuned in the upcoming release! About dx11, we had no dx11 before, only now, but its still experimental, so its better to use dx10.1.

GSC won't comment anything, as they've stated years ago, that anything can be used from their stalker games for modding purposes, but not for commercial releases. As long as they use Arma3 engine, it will remain mod, as that engine is not ready to be sold yet for commercial purposes, only for modding.

GSC won't sell the rights of their game, they will make one as soon as they'll have the funds and proper team for that.

BTW found a nice hungarian project, which is still in alpha stage, but the level looks very similar to the one the rus guys showcased. They might be using this hungarian guy's level, or they might be cooperating, who knows. You can download it and try in arma3: A3chz.blogspot.hu

Havent heard of it yet, so cannot comment much. If you read the article it says its a mod project for Arma3, to "return" stalker 2. It will be hard, unless they'll get their hands on stalker2 content, which would help them to return something. Till then they can only use concept arts and some leaked model screens and a very old story doc, which was probably changed a lot (since 2009), before the project was frozen at GSC GW (in 2011). Currently it looks like they ported CoP and SoC maps and mass-placed trees in editor. Good luck to them! Btw, there are other mods for arma engine related to stalker, one of the most known is "Nightstalkers - Shadow of Namalsk" and some others as well. Arma engine is very good for such projects. Too bad its only available for modding purposes...
