Yeah I figured as much. But it makes no sense when he isn't able to just jump up, yet he is fine doing the crouch-jump on the same object.

Re-read the comment. Stop being so damn butthurt. I did not say that jumping itself was annoying. I said that it's annoying that sometimes character (Freeman in this instance) sometimes has no problem jumping up on top of a box and sometimes he can't jump a foot high.

I am sorry to say, but I quit playing about an hour into the game. Got frustrated with the idiotic jumping. He still can't jump for ****. This problem isn't specific to this game, it happens in almost all of the games. I just got tired of spending more time trying to jump up on things than actually playing the game.
Otherwise I actually kind of like it. Once I take my anti-psychotics I am sure I'll chill enough to continue.

I crash out of the game after completing cs_compound. It starts to load the next map and crashes the game.

It's boring. Way too dark. The flashlight kept running out of batteries as I had to use it pretty much all the time. The dark forest map was way too large and obviously made better for multi-player rather than single player. But I liked the challenges of finding my way out on some of the levels. 10 for the effort as it obviously took a lot of effort. But for the gameplay I gave only 5.
