Actually, if I'm not mistaken, I think that's an RBG split effect, possibly used as a sign of damage being inflicted.

Wow! That's what sums up this mod! It was an incredible mod, it gives the true Half-Life 2 feeling that most mods lack today, along with a beautiful design! I loved the story, and the gameplay flowed beautifully!
I loved every bit of it, and I'm hoping there will possibly be a sequel.
