Not to seem rude or anything but the levels in this mod are looking exceedingly ugly. I think the levels in general will need re-working: the lighting is very bland; there aren't really any boxlights in your levels to create an ambient colour and there seems to be an over use of point lights. In some of the screenshots where there are obvious boxlights they're far too intense. There is a lack of depth - using fog will fill out the level and give it a nice colour tone. In this Moddb.com it seems you have used fog but the colour isn't consistent with the light grey boxlight you're using.

Fog zones and boxlights work together: they are used as an ambient colour tone, they're used to set the mood of the environment and compliment the lights used in it.

In this image here I see a very suspicious black artifact below the sky box behind the oversized rocks, I think a lot needs to be done to what you have so far. Your models need to be embellished or at least re-worked as they're just basic primitives with a texture on top of them and it just makes the mod look like no passion has gone into it.

I think a lot of people have to remember that it was a different group that made it - so be sure to expect a different game! I see nothing wrong with change and the direction TCR took with this game was great. Hopefully you enjoy it. It seems you're in it for the same reasons as I am and if that's the case then I'm sure you'll like it.

She wasn't referring to the screeching UI terror sound. She's referring to the terror meter that shows your sanity level and the visual effects that appear when looking at enemies.

Finally someone who I can relate to! I totally agree with you, I hate a lot of the complaints that this game gets, they're all so extraneous! No tinderboxes, no oil, infinite lantern, no sanity meter or effects and lacking the ability to pick up and throw inanimate objects, if the game gets given a low rating because of that then I think the reviewers have completely missed the point.

Like you said: this game isn't a direct sequel and I don't think it's fair to say that TDD is better than this. To me both games have a different approach to horror and I think both games deliver it brilliantly. One of the complaints I hate the most is: 'It's linear.' All I have to say to people like that is: ALL GAMES ARE LINEAR!

To sum it all up, the game is brilliant and I think a lot of the fans have missed the point, I fail to see the reason for such negative attitude towards a game just because its predecessor was different.

No I didn't do anything at all. I did have to separate some sounds and edit them slightly, like the girl crying for help. Other than that the sounds are all as they were in the game.

I'm glad you liked it. :)

Yes, it is a re-creation of the original trailer level - hence the title...

I assume you're being sarcastic but no it didn't take 2 hours, it took 2 days.

It's always wise to read mod or game descriptions before you download it so you know exactly what to expect.

I absolve you of the twat award; however, I will not remove the twat award from my news because I'm bound to get other people downrating my mod because people don't like to read descriptions.

So all in all you're no longer on my twat award list so you're fine, but I want to keep the news there to warn others.

Lovely! A proper review! Though it does state in the title that it is a trailer re-creation meaning that it is not a fully blown storyline as such.

It pleases me to see that typing a description has not fully gone to waste.

Well obviously... I take it you didn't watch the video I provided - let alone read the description. This is a recreation of Amnesia: The Dark Descent trailer, not a custom story; it's a tribute to the game and to the veteran players of it and a thank you to the developers for giving us the tools they worked hard to create. Please be so kind as to read the description first as it is there to be read.

It's not a hyphen, it's a dash and a dash can be used like a comma but instead it adds emphasis to the text that comes after it. A dash can also show a sudden change of thought or can be used in a similar way as brackets.

Not trying to troll or anything but there are errors in your text:

'You're name is Richard. A young investigator that has to investigate an old castle and reveal it's secrets.
Can you save your partner? Can you reveal the castle's secrets?'

It should be:

Your name is Richard - a young investigator that has to investigate an old castle and reveal its secrets.
Can you save your partner? Can you reveal the castles secrets?
