I've been thinking about starting to make my own game for the PSP. Of course I really wont do much until next year for that's when i start taking some classes for this kind of stuff. I would really like it If maybe i could get some "serious" ideas because I don't want to be another Super Call Of Warfare Advanced Portable 3D guy posting lame ass shit all around moddb. I'll probably start with some concept art if it looks pretty good around now so I can post that at a later date. I'm really thinking about doing an RPG/Strategy or a Shooter styled game for the PSP. Or I was thinking of just making some sort of a spin off game from one of the titles that are out around now (like a Mass Effect or Assassin's Creed for example).

What do you mean by "serious" ideas? I like that you don't want to take your future project lightly.
Are you set on the PSP? Because I think the SDK isn't free (last time I checked, it was around $1500), so that would mean that you would have to spend money to develop for a platform that, by the time your game is ready, might have been replaced by the Vita. I could be wrong though, I heard some rumours that they wanted to make the SDK free at some point.
Also, concerning a spin-off game, I'd first ask the original's copyright holders for permission, since some could disagree with you using their IP and send you a Cease and Desist or something like that. Although, should the spin-off remain a personal project, I don't think there would be any problem.

Well I've had some stupid ideas for games in the past (one i made with just a side scrolling 2d pig flying around no real objective)It of course was never released on here cause It was pretty lame and troll like if I did xD And I'm not really set on the PSP stuff I might do PC or maybe if a good source comes along for PS Vita Hombrew/or CFW I can mess around with that once I buy one. It would be so cool to just one day pull out a Vita or something and all of a sudden you're playing something like Assassin's Creed III: Quake or whatever and it would just be cool to know I made/helped make that.
