Abomination of desolation!
While it's a excellent game. The PC port didn't left a nice taste in my mouth. First thing's the options menu. You lack any option to map keys, set graphic detail and all those nice sliders!
To edit controls you have to edit the config file, which isn't hard at all but still a menu would have been nice...
Then there are quick time events, which I never really liked. Even when I played the game on Playstation 2!
But the game's good, if you look for the options and start to cry then you are a complete idiot. There's a config file.
Score! Best shooter this year in my opinion!
Wang is back and damn is it good! The graphics, oh dear god!
Alternative fire modes, something not common in modern FPS games. Usually the alt-fire button is iron sight.
I like how shurikens are now unlimited and I liked weapon upgrades a lot. Plus the katana skins. Man! Then there are secrets, encouragement to exploration, references, bunny sex is back, Titsubishi is back. I liked Wang's younger self. And the cutscenes are all nice & skippable (thank gods, not something common in modern games). And you can use numbers to cycle through your weapons, which is also quite nice!
Then there are new weapons, the sword fight is hands down amazing, pretty gory and fun game.
Though it's stupidly linear, with plenty of secrets (legit secrets) and a couple of invisible walls and instant death sectors. The way game saves is confusing, I'm used to a single slot for manual overwriting. The game creates new saves every time I push the button. Plus it uses checkpoints (which I have off).
But overall, as a reboot. ******* amazing! Lo Wang's back!
A properly mixed old school with a few things from new school. Bow before it's greatness. Though you have to admit the game feels more like Serious Sam/Painkiller now than Shadow Warrior. That's not bad, but it's different. And yeah it lacks multiplayer, but the singleplayer is pretty solid so it does not need one. Ooh and modding would be sweet!
Anyway! Amazing game! I'm typing like nuts. Go get it, it's on GOG too! Get it! Now! You won't be disappointed.
Black metal demon bunny is gonna eat your soul!
I thought I was a fool for bashing this game. I regret the fact that I didn't want to try this game.
This is still Fallout, and it's still pretty darn good!
Is it "Elder Scrolls with guns?" Well, yes and no. As I said this is still Fallout. Character creation, perks and all that stuff. It's all back! Plus the creepy ambiance and humor. It's a win win from almost every angle!
I do however have some issues with it. Like with that intro!
While the idea of life in the vault is nice, it can get tedious if you ever decide to try another route, or just wanna experiment. Truth be told Temple Of Trials in Fallout 2 wasn't a warm welcome either after a while, but it was shorter.
I also don't like the fact that you must take training before you can use power armor.
You better get used to combat, it's like a FPS (somewhat). Think of it as Tactics in first person. It's fun and blowing off heads (while gibs fly everywhere with blood) is awesome.
Megaton is F3's Junktown. And the character I instantly fell in love with is Moria Brown. She's insane!
Overall it's insanely good! It's got that Fallout spirit going! And there's player choice, much like in the original!
I forgot to add for music. It was done by Inon Zur, same guy who did music for Fallout Tactics. In short, it's full of win! If you didn't hired the man, the legend Mark Morgan of course.
