No Duke Nukem Forever 2013 :(

So is this the actual mod of the year or another "special edition" rewards? I mean this is "best upcoming mod" not "best mod..." what gives Moddb? be clear!!!

I didn't realize this is the editors choice, not the community voters choice! I wonder when this will be revealed...

Thanks for your kind words, whoever you are!. Yes, I've tried to add detail to the motorcycle map even if you can't really see it while riding the bike. There used to be much more detail but I ended up short of sprites and walls so I had to go back and deleted stuff to add more rooms and such :)

I'm davox and I've made the motorcycle and stadium maps. I'm very glad you liked it and it's because of words like yours that I love making maps!

The music in that map is from CursedLemon, go to his youtube channel to find much more renditions from other games. He's got an older version of the music uploaded though... but in the video description there's a link to the updated version (he reworked it specifically for this dlc! isn't that awesome?).

You have third person view in Duke3D.

You fail to realize that Geoffrey, basically the man behind 80% of this mod, did all this on purpose. It's a MINI-MOD that unfortunately, got the wrong hype about it.

You can even read on his website "waiting for people to complain about the lack of models, weapons, etc" I mean, is just a mod for fun!.

You must realize that Geoffrey is an EXCELLENT mapper, definitely one of the BEST in the Duke community, just search for any of his maps, for exmaple fbsp001.map, and be amazed at the insane amount of detail put into it. Or search for screenshots of the map made by him for the upcoming mod "Survival", the refinery map, and you'll be drooling all over at the beautiful scenery.

With all this being said, I think it's pretty much clear that the design of Zombie Crisis was intended on purpose. If Geoffrey ever wanted to make a serious Zombie TC, you bet your *** it would be the best Zombie TC you've ever played in your life.

I'm aware that FreeRunning is different than Parkour. The maps are done that way because of a specific storyline, you're being held by some organization that made a tournament with different FreeRunners, all must make it through the designed arenas to get out alive, there are many themes, it's a very varied mod.

About the flips, the further I could go about them are horizontal flips, not backflips or forward flips since it's not really possible in the Eduke32 Engine (remember it's a pseudo 3D, like 2.5 D really...).

I've put rails to do precision jumps but they are just the old fashioned "time your jump or you'll fall to the pit" not really calculating the jump or anything.

There are wall jumps if that 's what you mean by "kicks" as you can jump off of anything mostly, realistically of course, not forever like prince of persia.

I don't really think I should change the name, just because you can't do it in-game doesn't mean the characters wouldn't do flips in real life. Name is subject to change but this mod is getting known as FreeRunner and it would be a really bad move to change the name, as people will think there are 2 mods or something like that.

So far, there are no new weapons in the works or in the design document, for now it's just exploring the maps trying to find your way out using your wits.

Maps will have a variety of ranges...natural places (woods, caverns) castles, houses, abandoned gritty buildings, etc.

This game is about a dude that used to be a traceur but got into a tournament, not knowing that the people there would encarcelate him to watch him go through arenas of death. All the places are really arenas with cameras for people to watch from their TV's. Kinda like a sick program like The death race or the running man.
