Today's Shadow of Chernobyl's tenth birthday so I'd like to thank all those involved in it's creation for the wonderous journey they've given us and the support they've given the modding community that has allowed us to keep the Zone as exciting today as it was all those years ago.
I'd also like to thank the modders who I won't name as they are numerous and I fear I'd miss many, They've done things with the Zone that us mere mortals could only dream of doing, making the zone deadlier and often unrecognisable to the original vision. Thankyou.
It's been a hell of a ride.
I remember buying ShoC... wandered into the local game store in 2008 to buy a new game. Something about the spooky cover art and the charming metal case caught my eye. Paid for it and installed it as soon as I got home. I was instantly hooked! I played for hours in this radioactive wasteland. The crashes, clunky movements and average graphics weren't enough to turn me off ShoC. The first time I stepped into the labs I was genuinely creeped out, but I had to keep playing!
Stalker is the most memorable game I've played and continue to play, here's to many more years by the campfire. Cheers!
I couldn't have said it better myself! Happy Birthday to one of the best games which I, ever played and thanks to the massive S.T.A.L.K.E.R. community and especially the developers who make this incredible franchise! There were a lot of changes in the development and even if it originally should be a completely different game (early 2001) it's better the way they choose (even if its pity that it's not like in the earlier demos from 2002-2006). Once again, I want to thank everyone!
I still remember the first time that I have actually run this game back in 2007, I had a Intel E6300 Dual Core with 2GB of DDR2 and a ATI X1600 Pro graphics card back then. How time passes by...
BTW, I made a small tribute video for this great game, hope you enjoy it!
What to say, I would not even be here on Moddb without STALKER series. Good hunting stalkers and thanks everybody who made this game possible.
So many hours spent on stalker series, so much time.. but I do not regret a second, especially the time I spent on the glorious mods community made.
Comrades, what mod is the above screenshot? The one with Lenin's bust. I played it years ago and it's good...but its name slips my mind.
BTW, in answer to my own question, and case anyone else is interested, it's from Slayer Mod for CoP - Moddb.com . Just had this confirmed by nashathedog himself.
