In fact, we've been asked this quite a lot. I'm a little surprised by that, since I personally don't quite see the resemblence to Battlefront. But I'll be happy to find out :)

We actually had this "problem" with TNE, too. Several assets have been redone like three times because people were dissatisfied with the older ones.

Indeed. I love grunge look on t-shirts anyways, but this one really nicely integrates the ModDB font without destroying the artwork, which is very neat!
Couldn't really say which color version I'd like most, but I'd probably go for the brownish tones if I'd buy one.

Darth.Hunter Apr 25 2009, 8:14am replied:

It's the story of in intergalactic civilization that spanned three galaxies and which is shattered by an intense civil war. The story lifts off where one former High Guard captain with one of the heaviest battle cruisers of that time (the Andromeda Ascendant) drifts away from a black hole that he has used for a rescue slingshot maneuver 300 years ago during the civil war. The 300 years passed for him in like a second due to the time dilation effects.
Now he finds himself in a world where both parties mostly destroyed each other and a vacuum of power was left behind, leading to anarchy, piracy, slavery and all the bad things that would never happen in the old Commonwealth.

He manages to recruit a little - very mixed - crew and goes on a seemingly absurd mission to restore the Systems Commonwealth - with just one ship under his control.

About Stargate: TLS - I don't see any of the two teams as superior. They are different in equipment and weaponry. While the alien team has powerful weapons, the human team has quicker firing weapons. Both teams play totally differently, but they manage to be very even when it comes to balancing. And that's remarkable in my opinion.

Yes, as of the current plans, massive multiplayer. Not massive in the MMORPG sense, but about 100 player server in some kind of 'massive assault' mode. Objective-driven, with ground troops and fighters, incorporating space and planetary combat in one.

I like the Andromeda most from all ship designs that are out there in scifi so far. Really great design. Is it a custom model? I am currently working on a model of it myself (~ 15.000 polygons) and it took me 14 hours to uv unwrap that darn thing ^^

That's a really nice trailer with good music. You guys should work a bit on the player animations, as they look a tad unnatural (especially the Jaffa). But the visuals are stunning and really put forward the atmosphere of Stargate. Well done!

Best and worst? I can't think of any worst at the moment, to be honest. Actually, I like the way that teams, games and mods are separated now. This really grants you to work on your team profile seperately to your mod profile. I think that is really one of the best changes. And furthermore, the overall site layout has a far better overview.

What I really love is the new video feature. From all the features to come, this is my personal most wanted. It'll be great once you can really show video trailers or coverage right within moddb in addition to imagery.

That's pure vandalism and those people do not deserve the name "hackers". A real hacker usually has noble intentions by pointing people at security weaknesses.
However, that is pure destructive abuse of security leaks. And I can't understand how anyone can do that to a noncommercial project that wants to give the fans something to enjoy. Even Black Mesa: Source was victim of such people recently.

A hint to the TLS team: If you really want to secure your production data, I recommend using Subversion as a versioning software. It is much harder for those scriptkiddies to even find out where your repository is than any website-based application. And you can also use a server to backup all of the repository.
Good luck to you guys!

As of our current concept, you cannot directly maneuver the capital ships, but they serve as an operation base for your team. So you can walk through the ship, help defend against intruders or launch your Slipfighter or troop transporter from there.
Maybe (but I cannot assure this yet) you can man PDL turrets.

As for your question about the DSX class: We're starting off with the models that are vital for gameplay (since we don't have many staff members on board yet): Glorious Heritage, Nietzschean Cruiser, Garuda, Centaur, Shrike, troop transporters for both factions.
That's about what we need to set up our desired gameplay mechanics. Once we're done with that, we'll certainly extend things a bit for more epic space battles. And yes, I'd certainly love to see a DSX cruiser in the game :)

But if it disappears as mysteriously as it has appeared - fine :D
