The main idea is pretty simple. Collect pages and pictures avoid the villian. The dark, foggy atmosphere, however, is what makes the game scary because when peering into those thick dark woods you don't know what will come out of there when you have a flashlight with a light radius the size of a child's testicle. As for the 'Slenderman' considering the amount of fan art I've seen drawn and the amount of Slender games I've played has made the Slenderman a boring and non-scary character. I will say, however, when I saw him running instead of standing behind me, I screamed. ;)
