Pretty much to sum it up. I'm helping with the mod Old Republic at War(ORaW). I'm the guy over the Galaxy Conquest code. I'm coding pretty much all that part myself with help when or if needed. Also a modeler for the ground units for the same mod. The Galaxy Conquest part of the mod is still under a lot of changes and don't have all the units so it isn't complete or playable but hopefully it will be in the near future. I'm also an advisor/helper to another mod being made for the same game. That mod is over the StarFox games from the old Nintendo systems. Until I'm done with ORaW I'm only doing small parts for it. However from reading and what I have helped with work on it is coming along rather well.

With that being said you have to go to the folder and search options and then click the tab "search" and you'll see the 2 top selections. By default on anything from windows vista and higher has it only search file names. So just simply change it search file and content. ;) I had this problem some time back when I first started using Windows 7.

The problem I ran into was when starting the game with the .bat file it always said the service failed to initialize if I remember correctly. Just know it wouldn't recognize the sweaw.exe when using the .bat file. Had to actually make a shortcut on the desktop and put in the execution file and mod path. Then had to actually give sweaw.exe administrator permissions to run. Haven't had any problems with it since.

Not to take anything from the guys here and not sure if they have answers for windows 7 users. But if you run into problems with it you can get in contact with me. As I'm running windows 7 64 bit and had issues with the .bat file to start the game not working. Had to make a little work around for it.

The old one on EaW is good. Can't wait for the FoC version.

Well I know I have been hiding out for a quite some time. Just been kinda busy out there and not to mention a lot of code changes I made last time won't allow the game to start for me and I have been to lazy to go through and find/fix them. So been hiding out as it frustrated me. On top of that my life has been having top priority lately as trying to find a job. However I'm going to try and start working on some stuff again.

PS. I'm sure when Geroenimo looks at the post he'll be happy as I have been gone without a single word in about a month or two.

Actually the hammerhead could be scaled up some. But you don't need an xml editor. As all computers come with an xml editor. It is called notepad or wordpad.

Played the demo couple weeks ago. Other than a minor bug or two and some spelling issues(which we all make. god knows I have made many myself on mod i'm working on)great job logan. Will be anticipating the full finished version when you get it there. And had graphics maxed out with no poor frame rate so well put together.

Well the tank droid is now rigged. Just has to be skinned and coded. There are many other models for the ground that are being worked on just have not been on recently to keep an update of what has or hasn't been done and where the ground units are at.

Remember it isn't fully released. Many things are being changed. If people can't understand that and just suggest changing this or that in a polite way without just downing the test or beta or whatever you want to call it and think that it is the final then they are completely and utterly stupid...

Ok this is a nice change for the game. I do believe many of you will agree that the original orbital bombardments were dull and were not very thought through. They lacked that flare of being shot at from space.

Well I just redone the orbital bombardment for the Sith. Made a new model for the weapons coming from space. Changed the impact particles and changed what the bombardment does to shields, and units.

I don't have any screenshots right now because I don't have access to the internet with my computer on the weekends plus it is my time off for the week so I get some time to myself.

But I think you all will be satisfied come Monday when I load some screens shots of the bombardment and I may even try to get a video made so can actually see it in action rather than still shots.

if they will be made playable which I really doubt because it adds a bit of change to the game when you have a 3rd race that is fully capable of using the AI to play against you that you never know what they get to start out with. :)

On another note. 2 transports just got coded 1 textured and the other is waiting to be textured. Both work great in game.

Will be getting the tank droid animated and textured soon to be added in game.

Have 3 other units that have been modeled, 1 textured that will be getting coded into the game and tested. They have their animations and all and here hopefully in the next week or 2 will have pictures of all of the transports and units completed for the GC.

The Galaxy Conquest(GC) is not finished. The Mandalorians won't be playable in the next release as they'll be locked out. They will have some ships. But please don't play the GC as it is unfinished and has many bugs for what is done due to it not being finished.

**** Mandalorians are not and will not be a playable race.
**** GC is not finished so do not select to play it.

Go to where you have FoC installed and if you don't have a folder in there named Mods then add it.

Put the game into a folder in the Mods folder called Old_Republic_at_War

then put the shortcut that is in the files you downloaded onto your desktop and make sure it is going to the right shortcut.

I would like to also say I have been busy all day today on the mod. Have coded 2 new transports today. Both work in game. 1 still needs some tweaks and the other needs to be textured. The textured one I will get to after i finish getting these tweaks done for the other transport.

Also once I finish getting all transports coded and working in game and looking how I like I will begin working on the ground units themselves.
That means I'll start making models for them. :)

Also if you are having problems with directx. Chances are you don't have the right one needed for the game installed. Or you skipped the installation for it when you installed the game. Here is a link to microsoft where you can download directx 9.0c and all previous versions. This will resolve a lot of issues if you don't have the right directx installed.

Also a side note. Not everyone has to do this. Different computer companies setup windows vista and windows 7 differently for their computers. Hence why some people have problems running things on their computers and some don't.

While I'm on this currently. If you are running windows vista or windows 7.

If you have problems with the game saying directdraw could not be reset or something that couldn't be reset or loaded. The most likely problem is the administrator account settings on your computer are blocking the game from making changes to the computer settings that it needs to.

The easiest way to make sure that isn't the problem is do the following.

Right click your shortcut for running the game > Go to Properties > compatibility tab > check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for" select Windows XP SP3

Then if you look on down below that you see another check box with "Run this program as an administrator" click that box then click apply and ok.

Try running the mod again. If you are still having a problem send me a private message and I will try to resolve the issue for you.
