If the game starts up and you can play as them then you have likely installed it just fine, a old PC? I don't think that could be the problem.

Same here. Diplomacy was alright, but Rebellion is pretty damn awsome.

Cataclysm is so epic, I love the Beast. The funny thing I've had it pretty much since the day it came out, and my copy still works!

As for shields they may be added in sometime but I don't know.

Well I'll be happy to answer these questions

1: The main difference between the Dark Progenitors and Progenitors are The Dark Progenitors have a full fleet, and are normally useing cloak technology to stike their enemies out of nowhere, but they use the same technology. Also the Dark Progenitor versions of Progenitor Ships, are more powerful then their progenitor counterparts.

2: I don't know if it will be, as I'm on a PC.

3: Likely not, but you never know I can still use the 7th race slot.

Umm the Hiigarans, and Vaygr aren't changed in this release, the next update they should be though.

Hmm strange. I have no idea whats going on there, but you could be right just remember to always check in the platform tab in the research menu, as thats where the weapons research goes, so you may have missed something there, but I don't know. I'll check and see if I get the same problem.

Edit: I checked it and its working just fine for me.
