the "Blitz" folder is just a reference to where you have the mod files installed, some people copy the ZH folder multiple times to have different mods with clean installs.

Yeah, the launcher doesn't work with the origin version.

Try unpacking the extracted.zip and launch with the ZH.exe
If that doesn't work, launch worldbuider and it should tell you what the problem is.

The regular installer can be opened like a zip archive. You can use a program like 7zip to open it up then just paste the files where you need them.

I've been doing a lot of experimenting with different things. I admit I should be coding these infantries, I'm not looking forward too it. I've gotten the German and Russian infantry concepts down on paper (literally) and I got a decent idea for the Allied inf. I'm sure by the time I get these ones done I'll know what to do with them. But then again I got a couple more things I'd like to try first.

Honestly, I'll probably code the inf, drop a beta patch then start cleaning up, there's a lot of unused code running in the background I gotta clean up.

England, France, and the US are all major countries of the Allies which fought together in tandem against Germany. So it's best to have them bunched together in a single faction. This way one countries weaknesses are overlapped by the others strengths, this make for a well balanced faction. The Allies don't need super heavy tanks to fight Tigers and IS. The backbone of late war Allied strategy is to bomb enemy factories out of production so they don't have to fight these tanks in the first place. As for Japan, it's long since been established within the Blitz2 group that Japan would be seriously under powered strategically without a proper naval mechanic, and there's no solid way to add proper naval forces in Zh, so for now you'll have to enjoy the European theater.

Well, R3 is more or less the finished mod, with the last patch after that fixing a few things and balancing it out a bit. There has been a 3.5 in the works, but everyone has pretty much been busy with real life or other projects. Not a lot has changed mostly balances and bug fixes *coughsquadbasedinfantrycoughcough*

It cannot be disabled, it's meant to represent the countries standing armies at the beginning of the war. The first 15 minutes of the game are the most important, use your starting units to quickly grab as much land as possible so you can afford to move into Tech 3. All you have to do is sell the factories and move the units if you don't like it, I fail to see how it could inconvenience anyone.

Why? Blitz and MoW focus on 2 very different styles of play.

You can usually deduce what type of tank it is by how badly its obliterating your forces.

Old Blitz AI had special units that only they could build because AI doesn't need to use command buttons like the player does. We have way too many units and too diverse a tech tree to properly make a sufficient AI. Single-player has taken a back seat so we could develop the Multi-player, which let's face it, is the only reason to play Blitz.

The allies Rocket plane (I assume you mean the P-47) is still OP as **** if you fire at groups of tanks that are tightly packed. Actually that P-47 ****** me off because there are certain people I've played against whose entire defensive plan is P-47 and the 17 pdr gun. *Harry*

The IL-2 with upgraded guns is pretty powerful against light to medium armored targets, because requires an excessive amount micro management (Blitz is never been about micro-managing forces its been about macro management.) to use properly, if you just drop them off over the enemy force they'll blast 1 tank and fly in circles.

I know you're not talking about the T34 being slow, its one of the fastest tanks in the game, just check the code. You might be referring to the T-26 which is an early game tank just like the Char, which are slow. They were slow IRL they're slow in this game. I believe the stug uses the same locomotor as the T-34 but I might be mistaken.

All Flame thrower tanks are OP, specially now that inf are restricted, though IIRC you can build trucks from factories that come with a squad in them.

lol build more tanks man, you can easily out produce axis or allies. and dont just build cheap little t-60, the soviet is-3 is equal to a tiger tank if not better depending on how you measure it.

extract the ini first, into your blitz folder zh/data/ini then the opt patch (unstable version) art in the main folder and separately take the ini files and replace old.

No, airfields will not be returning, I miss them as well but they are not realistic, and our current air system prevents baby sitting the enemies air field.

Blitz is founded on a tradition of quality gameplay, not quality graphics. NO, CnC3 is different from modding ZH, a lot different in fact, just ask Korona, its far more difficult and time consuming. Not to mention there are aspects of Blitz2 we would have to leave behind for it to be compatible with CnC3.

Not "dead" dead would imply no development and noone playing, as long as people are playing its not dead. As far as development, I'd mark it off as stalled.

MEC2 is completely finish, or at least koronas part. Korona has basically abandoned Blitz2 and is currently working on super secret projects. make sure to watch RA3 mods you might see his work someday.

For anyone who still comes here, This mod Has merged with The Finest Hour, some years ago. It may sound strange, but I think they didn't realize they had 2 separate ModDB pages, or IIRC, the developers of the 2 combined because the 2 were so similar and joint work began, anyways you can find the real page here Moddb.com

Sorry for the confusion.

No half naked women? No no, you have it wrong, what EA failed to do, was have good looking women. Have you ever played Red Alert 2? All the female actors were all porn stars. West Wood knew how to do it right.
