I am nothing much, merely a curious soul with a love for games, and a passion for making them as well. Perhaps in the far-flung future I shall create mods for Half-Life 2, I already have made a few for other games, but never attempted one so massive... Anyways, greetings, and welcome to my page. which for...wait a second...the installer runs it to the maps section of HL2. Specifically, here: c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\half-life 2\hl2\maps

Would I need to run the map from HL2? What the crap do I do?

Have and that's not the problem.

It just won't appear in steam despite the fact that I can see it in the sourcemods section. (models, levels, cfg, and all that crap are there under the name NHR) I just cannot figure out why it refuses to appear. O.o;

Mayhaps I am better off waiting for this version to be finished. ^^; After all,the other ones are quite old...

Ya know, I've played all of those save for Offshore.

And to be honest, this mod in particular was far more enjoyable. But for the sake of the fact these are all completed and this is not yet done, I don't quite include that in the same category.

Here's a few of my personal favs:
1. Minerva: Metastasis
3. Get A Life
5. Strider Mountain
6. The Great Forever Tomorrow

All really quite good and are separate games in their own right.

However, upon completion, this one too shall join join these ranks.

In regards to mods that have yet to be fully completed, then yes, this is the greatest mod I have ever played.

I had no idea where the crap any of the keys where. Nor did I know you even NEEDED said keys. I assumed some button needed to be pressed. No, no you had to hide the things and let the player wander around till they either got lucky or quit out of frustration.

Also, I had no idea you where supposed to use the battery that way. The only way I knew of that was due to the above comments.

Good level design, but as far as the gameplay aspects of it, it was badly handled. Frighten the player, yes, hide the keys and never give them any idea what they are supposed to do, no.

Perhaps some inner monologues would do, or a random note to help clue us in. You hinted at what was near, but gave no indication that anything was even THERE. As a result, I was quite calm and altogether unimpressed. I mean, abandoned train station, but nothing to show anything had gone wrong means that I am relatively safe, which does not make for a horrifing atmosphere. Or even one that inflicts paranoia.

Add a few blood stains and some more sound events. Make us think something is coming for us. MAKE ME FRIGGIN PARANOID, THIS IS PERFECT FOR IT!!!

It was a good try, but could have been done better.

I have a question about those extra maps. Specifically, getting them to work properly (missing textures) and be able to see it properly (from a birds eye view (currently is more like a head-on view)) and be able to select units, which I cannot do.

For some reason, only one of those extra maps worked for me and that was the one with a lot of zombies and limited amounts of combine soldiers.

When I would run one of the maps, it would come up, but I would be unable to select any units or do anything except strafe back and forth. And there were these annoying scanners in the background for some reason...

What did I do wrong? I copied everything to the correct directories, or I believe I did...

Any help would be appreciated.

The only reason I called the first part "REALLY short" was mostly due to me thinking it was rather long, then looking over at the clock and realizing that it in fact lasted only a few mere minutes. Bit of a shock that was. It did finish satisfactorily though, so I have no real complaints.

Also, I meant to edit that out, but wound up getting distracted and missed the time limit. >.< Sorry about that. The fact that I had little sleep when typing that helped little as well. I understand what you are saying, it's just that the fan in me always wants more. :3

Part1: Stargazing:

Pros: Quickly captured your attention, very interesting little puzzle, nice at the end to see it put to use.

Cons: Short. REALLY short. Also it doesn't recognize on occasion when you are staring at the constellation. (Could be me, though, but I just wanted to point that out)

Overall, not that bad. I love FPS's and especially love it when people take things use them for other, unintended (or perhaps intended...) purposes. Grabbed my attention, taught me a few things, and ultimately made me wish there was more. 7/10

Part2: Memories:

Pros: Quirky, interesting, some rather nasty little puzzles , nice to see the decay when you "accidentally" release unwanted memories.

Cons: repetitive voice track. Argh. Some music, or the option to have it playing would be nice. (Something I do on occasion, blot out people talking and play a song in my head. XP) Confusing as to what was supposed to be done at first.

Overall:Better than the first part. An engaging story that made me feel sorry for the guy. I was a tad depressed to see his state of mind, half-knowing it was the result of my own clumsiness. Only got one ending, yet felt as if there were potentially better ones, since the one I got was a tad morbid. 9/10

To say the least, the second one was very interesting, while the first part felt more like an appetizer than anything. I admit, I laughed when I realized I was running around in the guys brain in the second bit. I stopped and looked at the amount of tiny details and was pleasantly surprised a few times. The memories were interesting, though at times rather confusing. It did make some sense at the end though, so it wound up making me try it simply to see how things wound up at the end of it all.

Out of curiosity, how many different endings were possible?

Anyway, great mod. I would highly recommend giving it a try.

Actually, the combine here are the Overwatch. They are humans who have joined the combine, but have not yet been made into a true combine soldier. (They have all their parts and have not undergone combine surgery)

Also, the alien grunts and controllers are Vortigaunt variants. That is, they belong to the Vortigaunt race. So they are naturally human allies. I mean, after all, they were freed by humanity, correct? (Well, Gordon, techincally, but he is human after all)

Just wanted to try and clear a few things up.
