Experimenting with fog, lighting, mood, color, filling space with details. Why am I stating all this, anyway. You can see for yourself.
I still need to find some ways to prevent the player from getting bored in this area. I am open to ideas here (not to imply that I'm in some hopeless situation), so if there's something you see as fitting the industrial sector and what you dreamt about, something interactive or dynamic or what makes the map more lively in general, it's time to name it in the comments.

As for the problem you presented in the description, well... maybe you could have a sequence or two where you are able to help the workers out in some way. Lets say, a worker is in deep **** trying to find a valve to stop a leak in his machine. He sees you, and he asks you to help him out. And there you go. A nice sequence, using, ahm... "Valve" elements.
