Of course it isn't bad to have graffiti. But good level design has things that stand out, such as green against red. In Half Life 2, before you had the HEV suit, the green garbage bin stood out against the red brick wall, which is what caused you to jump over it. It's so subtle, but it's true. When something colourful, like this graffiti, stands out against such a bland colour, like the bricks, it's extremely noticable, and all of a sudden the player thinks there's something around here. If it's just a transitional area, the player is going to spend a lot of time around there before realizing there's nothing there.
Saturating the colours is a good idea. It's a nice decal, so it shouldn't just be removed.
Also: Sorry for responding so late to your comment. I have many other things and I don't really check for responses to comments I've made too often.
pupkin is correct. Because the graffiti is nice and colourful, it doesn't make sense from a story-wise or a gameplay sense. Why is there colourful graffiti? I don't know the full story, but if whatever's been going on has been as such for a while I don't think anyone who makes graffiti is going to make cheery things. In fact, I don't think they would anyways.
Also, unless the graffiti is by a key point in the game, it's going to distract the player and make them subtly think that there's something important nearby.
Beautiful model. :)
Her face seems out of proportion. Her eyes too big, her mouth and nose too small. And what's going on with her left arm? (Looking at her, it's on the right)
Nice skybox. =)
Is there a player clip on the roof to prevent people from getting up there now? :)
EDIT: Oh, different map.
Still, same question exists for the original garden map if it still exists.
Use the dev textures; we don't want to see a bunch of ugly purple and black.
Is the "Players remaining" supposed to indicate those on your team, on the opponents team, or both?
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait...
That's the SKYBOX!?! :O
I hope that the current HUD displays are changed by the end.
Hopefully the crowbar will be replaced too. :)
It looks too short for a fire axe.
Ignore my comment on the non-broken bottle.
Does it break when you hit something? :D
Looks more like a feather than a meat cleaver. :P
I like this idea. It goes with the name of the map/mod.
I'll be watching this mod; it looks interesting.
I think that when it explodes there should be a loud "CRUNCH" noise, like someone eating an apple.
Azure is a colour, often described as the colour of the sky.
I would also like to point out how much of an awesome mod this is; I played a little bit before I lost my Half-Life CD, but now because of the $1 Half-Life deal over Steam I can play this again. :D
Did you guys model that, or did you take/borrow it from PheonixStorm's PHX model pack for Garry's Mod?
Don't care, it'll still be fun to swing around. :D
Would like to see some neat animations for this.
This is the second mod I've known that has used Linkin Park's instrumental songs in it's trailer.
The map looks fantastic. I didn't notice any lag.
I see that the "Points" indicator has a new text style.
Looks like the minimap has something similar to that as well.
A shame? The source engine is amazing for things like this, not to mention Valve supports the mod community.
Can't wait to shoot raptors and robots. The raptor's armour looks cool, and robots are always awesome. :)
All we need now is team-specific view models, if that's possible.
Ben, I've noticed some new images since I last saw this, so maybe that's why?
Haven't downloaded yet, am downloading now, though. I hope I enjoy this.
