Yeah EoD "Eve of Destruction" mod had one for the Vietcong team, to represent that the Vietcong brought in women and children to fight for their cause, but I also think it was purposely modeled after the female Vietnamese enemy sniper in Full Metal Jacket. XD

I'm currently cleaning out the ModDB page to remove a lot of the older pics, to prepare for more up-to-date stuff, This is simply to make things less confusing, and to remove some things that have undergone huge change, or may not be represented in the final version. I will have a full news post coming up, for now expect upcoming new screenshots and pictures.

Yeah, we are keeping it closed beta for the simple reason of how much IS getting done. It's a lot to send back and forth between a more than a handful of people. Expect a new news post soon. Surfer if you want to make a vid for the news post that would be great. I cant record on anything above low graphics due to a known terrain bug that spams random black hexs everywhere at mid to long distance. Can't wait to get a releasable multiplayer version out. (note: next open beta will very likely not contain campaign mode.

Eh, not really BF3, I havn't even played that as much as I would habe liked but, schooling. I'm studying in game programming / game engine development. That has taken up a lot of my time. Uber has been pretty busy as well with schooling. We are hoping to have a releasable version soon. Campaign will probably be held off due to lack of animators. We proved the concept, and we are hoping to implement some of the scripting into multiplayer. So for now we are trying to make a fairly balanced multiplayer that can be also played solo. More to come later as I don't want to make promises.
Sorry for the long delay in response. (or typo, I'm typing this on my phone.)

I really don't want to call the mod Dead just yet, things had to come to a halt for a bit. I've been debating on rounding up a few things and just releasing what we have now. However, that means quite a bit will be missing that we have shown. Chainsaw hasn't been fully implemented, and campaign has been fully set aside until we had the multiplayer worked out. Regardless, what we do have is pretty fun to see how long you can survive. At the same time we would have to write out a feature list to explain what is there, otherwise some of it would just be confusing at this point. Sorry for the long wait guys, give me a few weeks to get enough free time to get a build together.

Depends on how we decide to do the chain. You can't have separate objects on weapons unfortunately. However, last I heard Uber was going to try to make it an effect. Which sounds like it could work, Uber would have to explain the progress on that.

Weee! Enjoy converting the models though, the collisions will need to be entirely remade since the poly count is too high on the collision model for the game to allow it to react properly. Good Luck!

Yes but Canada has an insanely nice health care system paid through all that tax. In America we pay tons more for our medical insurance and medicine since our system is still pretty obnoxious, but I won't get into all the annoying politics on that.

We are not dead. However things keep getting delayed from the same evil bug, so things got put on hold a bit. We might have a new solution, but not sure when it will be done. I'll try and get a news update asap though. Campaign is pretty much on hold and while I wish we could get more done on it, we are looking into another way to perfect the campaign system before continuing it on the OPDD project. Also our lack of resources as far as voicing and cutscene creation methods are holding it back a bit. Our next update will probably be mostly multiplayer, however you'll find it to be completely different once we get that bug fixed. Hopefully it will be fun and team based for everyone. Once, we have multiplayer back on track I REALLY want to get what we can up on Desura. I'd love to implement the stat tracking system. Anyways, thanks for the comment. I'll try and make a full news post soon.

only a few of their models really push the limits actually. The refractor engine could handle a lot more, with the only limitation being your computer. I've seen BF2 handle over 60 30K Poly models at once on a server and only lag on a lower end PC. The server handled it fine with no hint of crashing. BF2 is limited in a few areas as far as things like no refractions on water and maybe the shading / lighting could be better with things like occlusion, but those don't add too much.

I think the problem is just a corrupted download. So if any of you are still having the problem try just re-downloading it. Getting the patch fixed everything for me (including the hud), and also made the conveyor almost too fast.

I have yet to try this fix but as of regular for me they begin to move for a moment then stop and kind of very slowly drift backwards. As others say it works fine on the player though. Not sure how exactly the conveyor works but it could be how they touch the conveyor somehow.

I forget Uber's exact age and it fits in the 16-18 I believe but I am actually 21, so I fit in the more Young Adult category. As far as Voice Acting I plan to try at least one more time at it considering the majority of people seem to believe there was different people used for all those voices done. Really, under new circumstances, I should be able to get better quality recordings, along with less "hushed" voices. If my next attempt fails (I'll probably just make a sample video or something of the sort) then I'll have to hunt some people down. Thanks again for the comments everyone, hopefully we can have everything sounding good by the final release (considering the story mode will use a lot of voicing, I really don't want it to suck. Otherwise it will bug the player throughout the game)

Actually all of BF2 names are named after developers. We purposely used a generic name maker that created names that can be either male or female (since we originally had a female model as one survivor)

Thanks for the suggestion there. Yeah, finding free voice actors isn't very easy. I just moved into college so the hush hush crap should stop, plus I may find some people willing to help voice act. Otherwise I just need practice. My one voice acting friend has a problem with his mic otherwise I would bug him to help me for free lol.

haha thanks. I need to learn to make things like that less corny. mainly the voice acting. It's already better than I could have hoped but along with the one person filming everything it made it kinda corny with a few dialogue parts that I really should have written better. Hopefully, in the future I'll have something much more awesome to give you guys than that. (oh and while I could have used several video enhancement features to make the graphics look better I kept everything raw to give you guys an idea of what our shaders do. You'll note the envmapping makes an amazing difference with reflections.

The sky, yeah our thing that was made to change the coloring of the map kinda did that in a way.
The weapons, yeah not everything is new on that version mainly just sounds. New animations with screen movement and all that will be in the next beta. Which actually the sky should be fixed in the next version as well.

Next Version can be expected soon, but we don't have a release date on it yet. A lot of work still needs to be done with only me and Uber working on it. Only Uber knows how to animate and that will take time, in the meantime I am heading back to college soon, so production may be slowed for campaign too.

whoops that was a pretty stupid mistake of me lol. ETA "Estimated Time of Arrival" I just wasn't thinking. The voice over wasn't too bad overall (some was ehh but most was ok.) Mainly you have to consider, I did all the voices overs myself with a $3-$4 mic. Also some of how I scripted the VO is a bit messed up. hopefully the full campaign storyline was better than this, but this certainly was good practice to prepare for the hard work ahead.

Because we didn't want people spamming it in online servers. To allow yourself to be an admin you'll need to add yourself to the admin list in the settings for your local server. The proper settings file should be located in the mod folder at /roflbox/settings/sandbox.ini/ and the admin settings will be located at the top of the file. You can remove the default names if you want.
