Dead? No. I actually have confidence now that the life of the mod will spring back up and be active once again. Right now, Misha is working on a player model for the Tauren race. It's great so far and I'm helping him test the attachment points and refer different animations to use for it from pre-existing animated models in WarCraft III such as the Peon's death animation.

Thanks for the tip. Posting news only takes about 20 minutes to do TOPS and I am not the only guy working. In fact, sometimes I work the least amount on the actual mod and do mainly PR in the meantime. Though I'd prefer to not post every weekend and wait until we have a lot and larger things to report all in one post instead of multiple posts, the communities demand that I make a post at least once a week. :\

I agree with what you're saying Herr_Alien, but to not post frequently would make everyone think we're dead, which is something I'd like to avoid as much as I can, therefore we must do what the others want. Sorry if this appeals to you as a slight inconvenience or anything of that sort.

If you spam the "S" key, your group mates will run in the direction you're facing (usually).

You're already able to go from Durotar to Mulgore and back to Durotar. (Just an example)

Agreed. Overgrowth would be a great nominee but I haven't seen any in-game videos or any gameplay mechanics demonstrated in videos - just terrain and physics. Natural Selection 2 looks totally awesome and am getting it whether it wins or not, but EYE looks like a potential winner as well.

If I'm not mistaken, all these cars are already in the game. However, they use different names in the game because Rockstar isn't allowed to use real brand names in any Grand Theft Auto games.

WASD movement most likely will not be featured since patch version 1.24 pretty much made it impossible for third-party-programs to be used to manipulate the game's controls. So for now, we'll have to stick with Arrow Keys.

This loading screen was created by Blizzard Entertainment and it was used in the original World of Warcraft. When you're loading to a zone in the Eastern Kingdoms, this loading screen would be displayed. Changing it would make it unlike the original World of Warcraft.

Remember to make use of the "Smooth" tool in the Terrain Palette. Your hills look very pointy. Also, try scaling the buildings so it looks like the units can actually fit through the doors. The Demon Hunter looks like he's almost as big as the Town Hall building.

The tiles I am working with aren't very great. I'm pretty much using three tiles on random. But one of the three tiles has only two useful variations (the other ones have bright red marks on them for some reason)

Thanks. I can't say the mod has a bright future, but I'm giving up on releasing this project as a perfect playable mod. From some observations, I see that the best mods are released early, even in their terribly buggy and hardly entertaining stages. Although I won't go too extreme on the releasing a public BETA, I will try to make the mod enjoyable in some way. If the features aren't enough for you in the game, hopefully the terrains are.

Agreed. I guess modability doesn't really benefit them too much since Modern Warfare 2 is going to attract and hold the attention of a ton of buyers & players. Allowing a game to be modded usually is added to keep the interest of modders who play the game and mod it for a longer duration, but I really doubt that the developers really NEED such an option.

But who knows... maybe they're just not releasing modding tools the day it comes out so they can work on them more and give us more seamless modding tools. We'll see.

I'm guessing his leap spell is being used on that cultist with the purple glow? I think you should adjust the height the Barbarian leaps up depending on how far and close his targeted unit/area is. Higher for farther distances, lower for closer ones. It might all be the same in Diablo III though, didn't pay too close attention to that spell in the video.

Not sure what's going on here but I really like the white fog over the candles and lanters. Very nice touch. You really need to get your artist to darken the that greenish tile though because it stands out way too much and throws off the Diablo feel, IMO.

You're missing the huge shiva-looking statues on the left and right of the bridge and the portcullis that comes down when you walk onto the bridge. The water looks a tad deeper across the bridge than it does in the video, but whatever. Can't make it perfect!
The arch over the stairway there should be lower. It isn't that high in Diablo III.

Looks great but the atmosphere needs to be darker. Darken the tiles maybe and use black hero glow effects to create a sort of shadow in areas, since you can't make the fog black because of how it conflicts with the fog below bridges and 'cliffs'.

Well yeah, before we publicly release the BETA, we're going to do a quick private BETA test. The testing will last about a week or two. If there are no bugs, we'll release as soon as the testing phase is over. If there are some bugs discovered, we'll fix them as quickly as possible and then release it.

To better elaborate, the loading screens we use will not be of orcs and humans fighting nor will it be any of the default WarCraft III loading screens. Instead, we'll use the ones from World of WarCraft. For example on how these are used, lets say you're zoning into an instance; this case, we'll use Ragefire Chasm as an example instance. Instead of showing a loading screen that is similar to the one above, the actual Ragefire Chasm loading screen!

I loved Age of Chivalry, but always felt it was choppy and ugly. Something you really can't get passed with the Source engine. But this game actually looks like it can be a much nicer cleaned up looking version of Age of Chivalry. Awesome level design, great artwork (though the character art can use a bit of improvement), and a perfect engine choice. Lets just hope the programmers and designers don't ruin the game.

It is necessary to be critical about every detail. Most developers these days allow their game's imperfections to go overlooked. If you shove it in their face, they're bound to change it... hopefully for the better.

I've played a lot of mods in my lifetime, but this is so far the best multiplayer western mod/game I've ever played. Everything is done very well; the sounds, levels, gameplay, etc. I could swear a professional team worked on this. For that, I give you guys props for doing such a good job.
