@B7Biscuit - That's why I mentioned theory of relativity. You couldn't see any effect until we came with world network and satellites. When Einstein came with it, it turned every mechanics we knew wrong. Yes, Newton's mechanics are still valid enough for our needs in small scale, but mathematical model and basis were ruined with this new theory. Yet this model is better and closer to truth than previous and that's why we are using it.

It is not same with question of our origin. While experiments and simulations behaved according to scientific theories of Big Bang and Evolution, there are still people refusing these. Or worse, mixing them together with God to get things like scientology and creationism.

Instead of accepting new, better fitting model, proved by many experiments, some people can't bear absence of God in this - trying to smuggle him in, or debunk these for all cost. Dwelling on easy answers that are as old as humankind itself won't push us forward.

But why is it different to accept scientific explanation of our origin and other things and technologies? Do you doubt theory of relativity? I suppose you don't and if you do, well, your smartphone works because it counts with it. Why is it different with evolution and big bang?

If he created everything, natural laws must also be his creations. Gravity is attribute of matter, so he must have added that attribute, right?

But my previous point is that saying 'that's God's will' slowed development a lot. Just because people wanted to believe they are superspecial. Middle of all universe, kings of Earth. As we advance, our previous understanding proved or disproved and new knowledge can be almost unbelievable at first - Galileo, Darwin, Einstein,...

I don't think anyone doubts Earth position in space. At least I haven't seen anyone thinking that Earth is flat and middle of everything. Yet still I am seeing comments about Earth being 6000 years old and creation of humans. Why is it different to accept scientific explanation of solar system and our origin?

+3 votes   media: Christianity didn't cause the Dark Ages
CommanderDef
CommanderDef May 15 2014, 8:08am replied:

There were more people than just Galileo (Darwin for example). And while the church preserved literacy, they only preserved books that were pro-church and burned the other.

The problem is, the God is answer to any question. Without him, more people would study and try to explain phenomenons around. And those who did anyway wouldn't be afraid to show the results if those could be considered as heresy.

Stupid it was, because for example screw factory run to make screws that were given back to ironworks as waste iron, but people were used to work.

They are not significantly faster than good old MiG21. Main updates are "inteligent" radar and weapons, lower radar reflections. Electronic mini-war - less reflections=>better radar=>less reflections...

But VTOL is something extra, something I would like new jets to follow.

Japanese had Zero nearly until end, but in the beginning it was pretty good. And I prefer late version like A6M5 over Corsair, or Hellcat. Simply because of armament. Try Shiden, Raiden, or Ki84, those are hi-tech. Fast and powerful.

Yes, money is tool. It becomes evil when there are people who love money more than anything they can buy for them. And trust me, there are such people. It becomes evil when someone start business with debts. Times ago, jews, who often run money business, had to forget all debts they couldn't get back every 4 years. That prevented debts to grow to astronomical costs - like we have now.

Those pieces of paper should be gold, but they are not. Central banks can make as much of those papers as they want.

Yes, we should know how much we can consume and how much we produce. Now look around. Leasing, mortgages, debts. People are fooled by banks. Yes, you can say it is their stupidity, but financial products are made to be confusing as much as possible for purpose. For purpose - doesn't that make shadow above banks?

Money was a great invention, to obtain goods. Now both money and debts are goods. Money is no longer covered with gold. Debts are growing to infinity and all of you owe something to all of you.

- There is one joke about Greece: German tourist came to Greece to hotel and requests a room. Receptionists took his 100€ and run to butchery, because he owed 100€ to the butcher. Butcher took the money and run to breeder, because he owed 100€ to him, breeder grabbed it and run to farmer... at the end, somebody gave those money back to receptionist, because he owed him for a room. That's how one 100€ can erase much bigger debts. So what would happen if all people do this? Maybe banks would fall, maybe not, but it can erase some debts which would be either growing and also get rid of stress of many people.

Maybe going back to gold is not a bad idea. Nobody can fake it, nobody can make more than he has. Imagine that your coins are really from gold and silver, that they have real value...

About raising children, well, I don't know. It can be confusing to have two fathers and no mother, or two mothers. But now, in time when even women work in same branches as men...

Well, todays marriage itself is still relict of history. It has no rational point. You can be happy with your partner without being married. If it doesn't work between people, marriage can't help it. Meh, you can marry your animal, I don't care...

nice planes... I exactly know how do you feel about WW2. What do you know about Munich Agreement (Mnichovská dohoda)? Yes, there was a chance our border bunkers will stop them. At least they could have some losses.

Interesting opinion - I am not polish, but I know they had fighters PZL P.11 and light bombers PZL P.23. maybe they had something else bought from another country, but it couldn't stand a chance against Hitler's Bf anyway.

There is one strategy game, called Original War. Three factions - USA, Russia and Arabs/mercenaries. In story, Americans are thieves and they get back in time to get "Siberit" - from Siberia. It's not American, it's Czech and it's played by many Poles. In USA it got low ranking as "only copy of RA2" (which is definitely not), just because Americans are not good boys there.

As I said to Raptor picture, you can't use them against "terrorists". And they are too expensive and classified... If you loose one, you wouldn't loose only milliards of dollars on plane, because there can be some spies and they can analyze parts of it and then use the same technology against you. Yes it's inspired in F117 incident and Chinese J20. The best use for this is to use it as bogey, that's not so risky...

why not Kirov? there are many aircrafts that were originally military and then serve for civil uses and many aircrafts that was originally for civil uses and then become military

I must admit I hate them when playing against russian in RA2. Only thing that work on it were Aegis cruisers, other AAs were too uneffective on it.

In conflict with Al Queda and similar, there is no need to put your expensive pilots with their expensive planes to fight. There are some stingers to defend and there is no target for tons of bombs. That's why you use UAV for it - it's patient and makes no rash decisions. You can just wait in the air and rotate operators until target is found or your UAV is run out of ammo.

In conflict with whole country there are targets as squad of tanks and some better anti-air guns and missiles. So there you need really high-tech UAV or plane like Raptor - sneak in, destroy target and than return without real danger. Only thing you can do with jets against "terrorists" is to make them afraid of your planes, but only thing you can do with UAVs against whole country army is to loose them.

Even if you imagine F22 in dogfight, you must admit it's possible to shoot it down. Stealth makes you hard to see on radars, not completely invisible. To Griffin: pilot training is another expensive thing, so quantity with low quality will cost you more.
