edit: I fixed it by starting up half life and setting the render to opengl. Works great now :D.
Every time I switch to opengl mode on that pop up, and restart steam, its still comes up with the error saying I need to switch to opengl. Is there a way to fix this? When I play in D3d mode its really buggy, and I cant even use my flashlight!
I really want to get this game, but 30 dollars is really steep for me. Is it worth it? I played the demo and became hooked on custom battle mode.

Thanks man! This is a extremely useful Tut! I usually use 3Ds max hair and fur modifier along with splines to act as a guide thereupon I convert it into a mesh, then import them into zbrush. But this way seems more easier.

I have to agree with you on that, I played the beta and it was fun with friends, but got completely boring and dull fast. I mean if they had an unlock system like tf2 and MOD support instead of these dlc, then maybe this game would have been more promising. Playing fun user created maps would just be a blast!

Well i guess it depends on the complexity of the model itself,and how much the engine you are using can handle. but try to keep it low poly. and remember the textures play a huge part in low poly modeling.
oh yeah my model right know is 3,358 polys
You can look at this video
plane modeling is very useful but time consuming.
Even though its head modeling there still a lot of useful tips.
And this is box modeling, Very fast but you need to be careful where to put your edge loops or else it would be chaos.
and yes i do pay attention to my polys so that i dont go over the my limit.
You can show how much your polys in 3ds max by right clicking the word "user" in the viewport then click "show statistic" and it will sow you polys.
There really isn't a good tutorial on how to model an anime model but here's a few I found on the internet
