Nice concept, looks good, but that's about it for me. Looks more like a project for some class, and for hipster 2D so called "old-school" gamer consumers. The story isn't unique either. But hey that's me, it might have been better off as a iOS, Android game, those consumers do enjoy these games, look at the success of Angry Birds or other such casual games.
Too bad... but they risked it too much, it's their fault, they should have known such license rights aren't easy to get, and usually not even with money.
"Now I know what you're thinking and here's the answer: You will get Pixelry Champions for free because you purchased Pixelry during its alphafunding phase. And thank you so much for that!"
Let me guess, the ending will be the one where I will escape.
The death parts will take effect due to my inability to complete a puzzle, fall to my death somehow, get mawled by a space creature etc.
That's not predictable at all.
Wait, you also mentioned cheap in your face scares ? Wow, the plot thickens, now that's gonna keep us interested.
Image looks good though, I don't understand how others already think this is a great game from a single good looking retro pic, but alas, they are indie fanboys, they do not comprehend the meaning of an unbiased view of things.
Hoepfully, I'm proven wrong, and this might just end up as a great game. I just hope it's not just cheap thrills, plain story with 2D retro graphics just to apease the 2D, old-style fanboys.
Epic? Just because of the graphics ? Hmmmm, I've also seen people praise junk I mean "abstract modern art" with the same enthusiasm just because they think they are physical metaphores with deep meaning, the same here in my opinion of course.
Don't get me wrong, it sure looks good, but other than that everything is just too mainstreamed, plain platforming, plain shop, plain item names, nothing newly interesting to hook me up, a story for example ? From what I've read the setting reminds me of cave story.
Of course it's still early to judge. Keep it up !
It's not your fault others can't adapt their gameplay when it is reqiered by events in games . I liked it , it's not masterpiece but a solid and good mod .
It does ? I do hope you've actually played all games in their own languages then . Witcher , polish , Gothic in german , Metro 2033 ukrainian only language .
WEird fetishes you guys got :) , you can't let go of a US soldier speaking a different language , you just can't :)
I've got no problems with the voices , they are really good , people are just too picky and biased of the idea that US soldierd don't speak English ; think of it this way , some people don't like English voices and prefer them in Russian or their own language .
This mod is great , I've played it when it released as a mod for crysis :) , real AAA quality from all aspects . Haters gonna hate or find reasons not to like a masterpiece .
Hardly any teamwork , thus the 80/20 percentage . You also don't need to win all the time to have fun , I'd be happier if I lost a match where me and my team played cooperatively and gave the aliens a hard time :) .
About the fixing thing that you said : I think it's fine now , balancing a game of this calibre isn't easy at all , and I mean it. Expect loads of patches even after release ; it's a normal thing , look at other games especially team-focused ones .
It depends on what you want from a game , I personally want to have a blast .
You are right with Stacking :) , I found it very bland and with no substance whatsoever , the story was cliché and the gameplay almost unexistent since you were always spoonfed on what to do and HOW .
I've JUST watched another kickstarter funding of a game called Yogventures , basically these guys got funded because they have a huge , HUGE fanbase on their youtube channel . And they got funded $338,508 out of $250,000 . Very sad considering they are ripping off minecraft . Other indies with new ideas and maybe even great ones aren't getting funded :( .
:( you make him sound far too bad - I loved Grim Fandango , Monkey Island and Psychonauts . But you are right , if they calculated 400k to be enough for a project and got 3 mil , well it better be a perfect game .
Plus it disgusts me to see fully-fledged game companies to get on the kickstarter horse . Funding sites are made for INDIES . But these guys are taking advantage for the free shitload of money .
1. Be super popular and famous
2. Be ultra OLD to appease the hipster community .
3. Already have a well established company with money , use kickstarter for more free money .
Odd , MP is best enjoyed with real people . I know that you are referring to noobs and stupid crybabies or even immature idiots , but once you find some great guys/gals to play with , I guarentee you'll have fun .
I remember when I'd get into a full sever , the scores were balanced , the people were nice and happy , it was fun and relaxing . ( I'm not talking about natural selection here , just MP games in general )
1. Many games have old-school looks .
2. Homm had stories , or did you not play the campaigns .
3. Your 2 is a bit huge :).
4. Hillbilly was used as a friendly joke :( , sorry if you got it wrong .
5. It does have 99% everything taken from Homm2 even some monsters look-alike :( yup I see it now , sorry I rushed a bit :( im a moron .
6. Just asking what gameplays are copyrighted ?
7. Homm2 can still be bought of from gog :)
8. There is no 8.
What did you say hillbilly ? CLONE Try WOW and Runes of MAgic you maniac , pure CLONE , nothing illegal in making a completly different world with similar gameplay to other games .
HECK look at quake and unreal tournament , quake 3 and ut 1 for example . SAME games but with different , assets , stories , etc but the same gameplay . Fast-paced action online shooters with weapons .
Exactly my DAMN POINT ! Gameplay is NOT copyrighted , as long as assets , stories , characters , names , wolds , etceteraaaa are different , and they are .
These ... ' people " think that you are copying too much from Heroes of Might and Magic . But they don't realise how stupid they are :
1. Your game only has similar gameplay , that's it , the rest is made by you making it unique .
Gameplay mechanics/ genres aren't copyrighted ; this is what they don't understand .
No because , Heroes of Might and Magic didn't copyright the gameplay mechanics and not only that but heroes of might and magic RIPPED OFF Kings Bounty the OLD one . How stupid you sound , it's like people should ask permision to ID software ( creators of doom , wolf3d and 3d shooters ) for using the same weapon display on screen .

"escape or die!"

Dead is dead :)
The End . There I spoiled it for you .
ESF is still fat better than this , the waiting is worth it 10 times .

U Mad Bro ? It's not a HUGE ULTRA difference , and tehnically it's your fault you were born in zone 1 :)
Made by germans , OBVIOUSLY they would use their OWN german actor voices .

I like the fact that you are completely unbiased . And no I didn't use sarcasm .

Your logic : Dawn of War 2 is based of Call of Duty World at War ; notice the " war " .
Yarrr-RO-DAH !

May I ask why do you use such an old version of Blender ?

Im super critical so please excuse if you think I'm too harsh : THis looks like Mount and Blade 1.1 .
Nice tech , old-looking but still good , what's going to keep us engaged ? Story , anything ?
So .. nicely designed maps, guns,NPC's and enemies ?
