There isn't much to say about me, but I check ModDB frequently for my favorite mods, I enjoy modding as a hobby, and I like to dabble in many different activities.
That would be illegal. A majority of people here aren't that dumb.
Not really, L4D isn't suppose to be a horror game, more of an action game. If it was a horror game, then the characters wouldn't say the dumbest things ever.
I don't see why they don't make it a stand-alone expansion, like Crysis Warhead.
One thing I'm hoping for is more story elements. The first one had none what-so-ever. Where did the infected come from? How long does it take to become infected? Is there any cure? If so, are the main characters trying to find it? Just some ideas here, but there definitely needs to be a real story/background story.
Sweet, thanks guys.
I'm sure that Tripwire and Mr. Kadish are working on something other then Killing Floor, or possibly just taking a break. Right now, it seems that if you want extra stuff for KF, you gotta make it yourself.
I liked both your FPSC games. Good job showing people here that not all things made with FPSC suck.
I guess the SWAT mode is taking the place of zombies. Oh well, time to write to Activision to propose a Full-Blown Zombies game :D
New Orleans! :D
It could be alot better, even for FPSC. Add more lights and turn down the ambience. Make the hallway in the first level smaller, and add in some entities. I hope this helps.
I'm downloading now. I'll tell you what I think.
Killing Floor is also much cheaper, and in my opinion more fun. I'm not saying L4D2 won't be, I'm just saying I wasn't that fond of the first one. The trailer looks awesome though.
I hope its better then the first one. I'd like it to go to a more killing-floor style, but still in a linear path.
All of those shots are okay for FPSC. I recommend you get an account at The Game Creator's Forums and put this up in the WIP boards for FPSC. They'll give you a bunch of tips on how to optimize your game. Make it darker and use lights only where needed. Try to get some more modern-based media so your not using as much sci-fi stuff. FPSfree.com has some great stuff. This looks okay, keep it up.
Thanks for the link.
Joined:]. I can't wait for MW2 either, I pre-ordered collector's edition at Gamestop and got the poster.
Awesome, those should be fun to kill with.
Awesome job man!
It looks good, but can you show use a comparison shot. A kinda before/after thing?
Nice, your concept artist is awesome.
I would add some graphiti or something to the wall.
That's awesome, great job!
That's awesome. I can't wait to see it in-game!
looks good. Has just about the same effect as a higher poly model, with less rendering.
creepy. This guy should be fun to kill.
That's pretty awesome. I'll track even though I have UT3 for ps3. Maybe you guy's will get to be on the mod browser :D.
For some reason, the new vid won't play.
Looks pretty high poly, but good none the less.
Red Bull gives your helmet wings!
That's cool. Are people with one leg slower?
If his leg is that bloody already, my guess is that its already lost...
Looks nice guys!
or call ghostbusters, either way works. haha.
Looks sweet. My only problems are the lighting on the lamp in the corner, and that the ceiling texture looks stretched. Other than those things, this has a great atmosphere!
It actually does look much better without them...
Awesome! It's great to see some in-game images.
You guys are really starting to get things done recently. I hope this continues!
W.I.P. - Weapon In Produce
There is no light source for the light in the middle it seems.
Other than that, this is great!
The grass is a bit too green and solid. I would make it a bit more yellowish green, also not every part of the hill and plains need grass. Naturally there will be some clearing that have so little/short of grass that it's pointless to render them with anything other that a testure, for an RTS game at least. It's looking good so far. Good luck, I have high hopes for this game.
According to the website, that's what it's called: Kriss-tdi.com
You've just lost my track...
I'm not really fond of the roof texture, especially since we'll be seeing that for most of the game. Maybe its just the angle the screen was taken at.
Could be that Infinity Ward like Aliens 2, and decided to add many references.
because it was epic...
Well I've been thinking about making a universal banner that's not specific to any game. But let's wait for our front page article to appear.
I;m not that fond of the wall texture to tell the truth. The amount of cracks doesn't seem realistic to me.
nevermind. I saw him.
That was awesome! But I missed the new specimen.
My only problem is that the green roofs seem too filthy to go with very clean whit brick-work. Other then that, this is one awesome shot.
That's the bomb. I cannot wait for the texture.
This post is gonna be so long I might as well have made it an article, lol.
First and foremost, this just goes to show what happens when you go off and jump to conclusions. Admittedly, yes I originally was on the side of the boycott. Then, several things happened that changed my mind.
1. I realized to be a bit patient. The reasons I thought like them was because I personally felt that L4D1 wasn't the best game Valve had ever made, and when I learned that they had promised more content, I was upset. Then, I remembered how reliable Valve has been in the past, in part because the Orange box is 5 games for the price of one AND when I bought a boxed CS:S, I got HL2D, DoD:S, and HL2:LC for FREE. Name me one other company that gives you deals like that!
2. The boycotters were getting ridiculous! They were fighting like 5-year old girls! Not just them, but the people on both sides. I couldn't help but facepalm...
3. L4D2 looks so much better then L4D1. I'm absolutely positive that L4D2 will be a great game to play with my friends, and even with strangers. (that last part sounded a little odd O_o)
Next, out of the 343,049 people that are members at ModDB, only 127 are part of the L4D2 boycott. Now, I realize that it's not exactly a representative number, seeing as how a whole bunch of those users either don't log on anymore, are banned, or haven't logged on recently. Also, Valve's content delivery system, STEAM, has over 20,000,000 registered accounts. 154,590 of those registered members are part of the L4D group. Compare that to the boycott's 37,413 members. You'll find that the boycott is puny.
(see second post)
Textures need a little touching up. Nice job!
It's coming from an angle so that it wouldn't be in the pic. You can tell by the shadows.
This mod looks very professional and commercial quality. Is it just going to be a modder's resource, or will there be some quests that come with it?
Okay, thank you.
I'm downloading now, this looks freaking awesome!
No, I was just talking about the whole transmission thing. Like, open it with soldiers talking over transmissions. Would the pics be in the gallery?
I this mod in english? If not, will it ever be? (I can't download and check right now because I'm on a different computer.)
well, you really should on your first game especially. It gives a good first impression.
I can't wait for this game!
Nice guys. Some of the sounds were a bit, plus the lag caused by the recorder. It looks awesome.
I cannot wait for friday then. ;)
I'm interested in seeing the marauder hands. These are awesome though.
Nice. It's good to finally see an ingame shot
That's why I never buy used. Good luck getting a new one man.
Tracking this. Looks worth-while for now.
lol, its awesome other then the glowing eyes. Wait, if he's a sniper, why does the gun he's holding look like a shotgun?
The point of CryEngine 3 wasn't to really improve the graphics, but to basically port the CryEngine 2 over to consoles. This is probably a shot on a console.
lol, I will buy that.
I know, that's what I meant. It's the same structure, but a different color. Just to clarify
lol, it has a mag and a revolver clip?
I agree with bagg. I hope you include a .50 cal sniper, don't know if it would be possible to zoom with it though.
can't wait to see a texture on that!
