There isn't much to say about me, but I check ModDB frequently for my favorite mods, I enjoy modding as a hobby, and I like to dabble in many different activities.
I hope your project Thrives, haha, get it? :D
My guess is that its either an extreme coincidence, or IW liked Roebuck and wanted to make a tribute to him.
I'm tracking, and I'll join if I ever get anything good to share, lol.
Great job, the sand-bags seem a bit too yellow though. I would make them a more tan color.
I assume the face is just a watermark? These are pretty cool. I'm interested in seeing the anime styled characters with anime styled surroundings.
That really sucks. My parents got divorced when I was really young. I can't even remember it. I hope you get through all that, and while it may seem that the future is bleak it'll pick back up someday. Good luck man, I hope things pick up for you soon.
Hey, Conker. I'm gonna post this up on the L4D2 page, okay? That way it will get more publicity.
lol, that's why I'm just gonna wait for the addon packs that come 2 at a time. Broken Steel and Point lookout come in August.
All of those shots are okay for FPSC. I recommend you get an account at The Game Creator's Forums and put this up in the WIP boards for FPSC. They'll give you a bunch of tips on how to optimize your game. Make it darker and use lights only where needed. Try to get some more modern-based media so your not using as much sci-fi stuff. FPSfree.com has some great stuff. This looks okay, keep it up.
lol, the top says world at war as in Call of Duty.
Nice concept though
I don't know if I like the change to 9mm instead of 10mm, but I like the other ideas.
Two things automatically made me see that your opinion doesn't matter: 1. you spelled f**king wrong and had a grammatical error. 2. The part about ***** in our holes.
Let's not turn into the people who make Youtube comments here.
If you would like to have a open, civilized discussion about l4d2, why we think the boycott is wrong, and why you think it's right, then feel free to pm me or start a forum discussion. Unless your attitude is going to be like that, in which case you should learn how to at least put up a reasonable argument.
I can work up some images, just pm me with what you want. Also, I'll spell check since I've seen several mistakes in your previous posts. (no offence intended.)
That's awesome news! I don't want to know what we're going to do for videos though.
That's the bomb. I cannot wait for the texture.
Nice! Much better then the old one, or are they the same textures? None-the-less, it is good.
lol, 'nam isn't my favorite war, to say the least. I don't care much for modern history, I like ancient history much better.
Anyways, the AK model is great, although it seems like the pistol grip is too wide. Good job, guys.
Valve is still supporting L4D1. They have never said they won't. Thinking that is just plan idiotic. After all, why would they not continue to support L4D after L4D2 is released, even though they still supported Half Life 1 way after the release of Half Life 2.
Membership is picking up. 10 new members in one week.
I take it as a compliment. The Mafia is pretty beast :D
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. If you're just finding out about L4D2, then you're way behind. And, the boycott is mentioned several times in this article, plus all over ModDB. It's also one of the largest groups on STEAM right now. It sounds like your joking, but I'm not sure.
Eh, it'd probably be a good idea to get it for the computer anyways, since so many mods use the ep. 2 engine. A lot of mods here look awesome, but I can't use them with CS:S.
Anyways, this mod looks really nice. Keep it up. The videos sound interesting too.
In your face, boycotters.
Great, I have neither -_-. I could buy them, but then I would have both the PC and 360 versions.
Will we need Half Life 2, or will another source game suffice?
I don't think Ak's were used in 'nam, were they? I know that it would've been the Vietcong if they did.
I'm not sure if it will be authorized since it's just a copy. Maybe you could link this one there if they don't, I'll pm you conker.
Valve has said that the L4D mod tools will work for L4D2. i can only assume that mods will be able to be easily ported.
I'll get it once I'm at my desktop.
That's pretty sweet. First thing I thought of was a FAMAS
I know, this looks really awesome -_-
Cheese is the best food-stuff ever invented. My favorite is aged Gouda :D.
Thanks. I get bored alot at my dad's house, and with little else to do I just mess around in GIMP. From that, I've learned several tricks.
That was fast! Thanks. What do you think about it?
(continued from above)
Onto my final point, pre-odering. The article above says it all pretty much. My only thing here is that I won't be pre-ordering. I rarely do now. After I pre-ordered FC2 and was extremely disappointed, I've avoided it. Since then, the only games I've pre-ordered have been CoD:WaW, The Sims 3, and Modern Warfare 2. The reason I pre-ordered was because I knew I would absolutely be blown away. WaW slightly disappointed me, but was still worth it. The Sims 3 was definitely worth it, but that's a different story. MW2 will most likely be worth it. There's about a 5% chance I'll be dissappointed. As for L4D2, I wasn't impressed by the first to say the least. I'm definitely gonna wait for player reviews and possible price drop before I think about getting it.
This post is gonna be so long I might as well have made it an article, lol.
First and foremost, this just goes to show what happens when you go off and jump to conclusions. Admittedly, yes I originally was on the side of the boycott. Then, several things happened that changed my mind.
1. I realized to be a bit patient. The reasons I thought like them was because I personally felt that L4D1 wasn't the best game Valve had ever made, and when I learned that they had promised more content, I was upset. Then, I remembered how reliable Valve has been in the past, in part because the Orange box is 5 games for the price of one AND when I bought a boxed CS:S, I got HL2D, DoD:S, and HL2:LC for FREE. Name me one other company that gives you deals like that!
2. The boycotters were getting ridiculous! They were fighting like 5-year old girls! Not just them, but the people on both sides. I couldn't help but facepalm...
3. L4D2 looks so much better then L4D1. I'm absolutely positive that L4D2 will be a great game to play with my friends, and even with strangers. (that last part sounded a little odd O_o)
Next, out of the 343,049 people that are members at ModDB, only 127 are part of the L4D2 boycott. Now, I realize that it's not exactly a representative number, seeing as how a whole bunch of those users either don't log on anymore, are banned, or haven't logged on recently. Also, Valve's content delivery system, STEAM, has over 20,000,000 registered accounts. 154,590 of those registered members are part of the L4D group. Compare that to the boycott's 37,413 members. You'll find that the boycott is puny.
(see second post)
Gotcha. I'll get on it and put it up when I'm done.
No prob man. Do you want me to make a higher res one? This one looks kinda pixelated up there. Thanks. The letters were taken from the L4D2 box art, modified slightly. (the 4 is the first A, the T is the I)
Check this out. G4 is on our side. G4tv.com
Sandbox editor for Crysis
While I must say this sounds interesting, I'm afraid without an SDK it will get no where more than a map pack. But never-the-less, here's wishing you the best of luck.
