also, i just took a closer look at the avatar and it has a radar dish, tubes and 2 led lights. i must say, at the microscopic level, lights would be pointless, and the radar dish loses its function as well.
microscoptic insulted tubes would also be inefficient. anything microscopic will have to rely on circuitry.

study real medieval armor design. you might benefit. the current slew of armors you have showing is quite dismal.
the hydrolic powered combat suits look viably mainly because concepts for those exist in defense contract proposals, which is where you probably got the idea from, but i suggest changing them to be more pleasing, aesthetically. first, by removing the industrial inspirations. adopting more coverage and organic shapes.
i think he means the ability to don gas masks, tactical vests, helmets, etc to influence the visuals(and maybe gameplay)
