My Video Game Summer Journey

chloric Blog

Well, first off... I've been living in China since April working various part time jobs and making friends here and there and traveling a lot :) Other than soaking in the culture, making friends and practicing chinese day-to-day, I fit in a few hours of games a week! Usually playing Cogs or Multiwinia... but there are those days where I desperately need to boot into windows for my VPN or my desire to play Magic: The Gathering 2013 on Steam. And lately with all the news of Steam coming to Ubuntu by the end of the year, I could only imagine greater gaming advetures for my linux machines :)

The Humble Bundles have helped me through many days where I had no work and no ambitions to tackle the heat! But I do enjoy going out with friends and coworkers even if it means sacrificing sleep before having to work the next day :p

The summer has been eventful :) It's good to be here.

New Laptop

chloric Blog

Yesterday I received my long awaited laptop!! A Lenovo ThinkPad x120e with the E-350 APU!! For such a low spec'd laptop, it chugs along nicely, playing Half-Life 2 on max settings and even run Xubuntu out of the box with all the drivers installed except for the ATI Catalyst drivers of course.

The Laptop has a Fusion E-350 (Dual Core 1.6 Ghz w/ a Radeon 6310), 2GB of DDR3 RAM (will update to 4 later) and a generour 320GB hard drive. On top of that. it boasts an HD 12 inch screen and an HDMI port. Over all, the laptop is gorgeous and everything is well flush.

As soon as I had Xubuntu up and running, I immediately started dowloading Desura and all my Desura games. Pure magic I say. Playing Penumbra on this slick keyboard is no joke, it's amazing and the most comfortable laptop keyboard I've ever used. And with all my humble indie bundles installed, I have a galore of amazing indie games to play with on my travels now.

It also came in time for school since I just transferred over to FIU!
