thechineseroom is the name of a development research project I run at the University of Portsmouth, UK. We're interested in first person gaming - particularly, using mods to explore questions about gaming that you can't answer by just analysing commercial releases or theorising about them.

We are looking into trying to raise some money to get live musicians into the audio, but I'm not sure if it's going to be possible. Donations welcome on that score...

The hub idea is a really good one - i really like that. could be a way of bolting quite distinct shorter mods into a central structure. hmmm...that's got me thinking!

Thanks for that - ran into weird installer problems so will fix in next release. Any chance you can be any more specific on the errors - not seeing any here, but definitely want to fix that. Re: working out where to go - part of what we're looking at is how explicit navigation hints need to be, so that's really good to know. Thanks for the feedback - really appreciated!

yeah.. fraps - it's a wonderful thing. if i only had time to fit all the proper camera pathways rather than do it by hand...
