Hey folks, its Friday which means I've got some quasi-spare time to put into CuteRobo.
For the next hour or two I will be working on the snail shell.
Update 1: So far It has been a challenge to get the shape to look right while keeping it low poly, however I think I'm getting there.
I had a good number of alternatives, but they were 400 polys and not what I was after.
Update 2: Used some extrudes on the base of the shell to build out the snails body under the shell.
Update 3: Working on making the snail look and feel more like the CuteRobo ascetic (big head etc)
Update 4: Still not cute enough, time to give it another try
Update 5: There we go, think I'm almost done.
Need to clean up the model a bit think that's going to be more or less the base model for the snail that will soon be transformed into a cybersnail.
Pretty happy with the snail so far, going to call it a night and get some rest.
Update 6: Have finished the bones and a basic movement animation.
Have placed the snail in the game environment on a basic animation loop to see how it behaves.
The snail was set to a basic animation loop for testing. There seems to be some sort of conflict that causes the animation to stop playing when CuteRobo stands in front of the snail after having first collided with the snail. Weird.
Other than that, so far so good.
Update 7: Worked out what was causing the snail to glitch out.
The animation action had absolute location coordinates in it that were conflicting with the movement coordinates.
All fixed.
