Terrence ThompsonTerrence Thompson is the creator of the overall Space Dwarves concept, and writer of the Space Dwarves scripts. He has over twenty years of experience working as an investment banker and project manager on Wall Street, specializing in restructuring and managing game software companies to get them back on track to best poise them to be funded. Terrence Thompson wrote, planned and developed the Space Dwarves IP for two years before he put together this team to make this game and animated series. The team has worked a year on the game and series together. It is from his belief in the power of a good story that Terrence originally wrote Space Dwarves with a view to it being a novel; but inspired by his background working in the software and gaming industry, he decided to create a multiplayer game as well as an animated series and graphic novel. During his days of work on Wall Street, he enjoyed his job the most when working for gaming companies, hence where the journey began.
The Space Dwarves team comprises of eight industry professionals, four full-time and four part-time team members. Once funded, we plan on adding eight more team members who will concentrate mostly in the area of level design. The Space Dwarves team includes industry experienced professionals, and premium industry contacts such as Gary Goldman and Don Bluth who will produce the animated series of Space Dwarves, and others. While Space Dwarves is the first time all team members have worked on the same project together, the combination of professionalism, enthusiasm, and team spirit make for an incredibly dynamic group that results in our working together feeling like a genuinely uplifting experience. But this should not really come as any surprise, as individual members have worked on projects ranging from G-Force, Batman Begins, Predator: Concrete Jungle and even from as far back as Magic & Mayhem. The team has developed its own in-house API editor within the Unity development software. At the time of writing, we are currently in the process of finishing the API and uploading our assets, and so the engine itself has more features than we are currently able to demonstrate at this precise moment in time. The editor lets us set up our vitals, skills, actions, AI, shop items and more without writing a line of code. The majority of prefabs are generated from the editor, so there's no need to launch a major operation sifting through game object parents in order to customize things. There's no need to attach them somewhere as they are mostly all loaded automatically. Once completed, this editor will allow us to concentrate on entering game data and develop game levels without the need for programmers for every task. This API will also allow us to add or change the game specifics without coding. The API is so versatile that we can even use the same art assets to make different genres of games such as multiplayer RTS as well as the multiplayer game we are working on now.http://spacedwarves.com/space-dwarves-api-development-blog
