OK I forgot it is id tech 4, but why not use the same burning effect (or maybe modified a bit) as in Doom 3? And who have such a weak computer to play on nowadays anyway? Even notebooks with something like Mobility Radeon 5650 (I have one) can easily run Doom3 on ultra-high at any common resolution. Well I haven't tested it actually, but I don't see any reasons this shouldn't be true. At least you can make an option what to show: blood clouds, disappearing corpses, permanent corpses.
Looks more like Hexen II than Hexen: Beyond Heretic IMO. Good job overall, but please make death animations (and sounds) for ettins because those bloody clouds spoil the feel of the game. It's not Quake 3 and even there were corpses.
First of all, what way UE is linked to MC? I mean what's the point to post about it in MC news? Secondly UE exists for 2-3 years already (even latest vids I saw are made last year or even earlier), so I see even less sense to post about it. Finally UE is not about voxels it's about using search algorithms (like Yahoo or Google, Bing, etc. are using to fetch links) to render graphics, which IS quite innovative IMO. At least I haven't seen this approach in more or less popular engines yet.
I'm NOT defending UE or even have affiliated to it. I just don't see the purpose of this hate-post.

Donwnloaded->installed->overwrited the "binaries" folder-> ? ->PROFIT!!! er... i mean colorful dirt and pixelated red and white muzzle flashes. Also the "settings" screen is confusing: I can't understand what resolution I'm selecting because cursor is same size as text and doesn't have visible guide (am I clicking at the middle of it or at the corner). Then again I was impressed with performance boost compared to first alpha. Almost no lags on high.
Great idea, but crappy implementation. Looks stupid.

It's a notebook with Phenom II x4 and Radeon HD 5650. I can run Far Cry 2 with almost every setting on maximum (don't remember exactly, but i think only grass was at low/minimum setting, maybe shadows weren't high either) without *noticeable* lag. Also for comparison of UE3 games: it runs Borderlands very well with most effects enabled (although they haven't optimized their game very good either), Stranglehold (which has similar movie-like picture and level of details) runs flawless even on far inferior hardware (AthlonXP 2500+ and Radeon HD 2600XT) and I think Batman will run fast too (didn't lag on same weak spec in cutscenes while game physics/AI were disabled then lagged due to one-core CPU). AA was turned off in every game, while AF is at x16 in every game.
That demo works veeeery slow on my NB (can't judge by eye but i think it's somewhere between 10 and 20 fps) which makes me think that it's just a side effect of a development stage. So i hope when the game will be close to release FPS will be much higher (at least 2 times higher). Good luck in making and optimizing that amazing game!

Why don't you unite your mod with FCAM? It would be great. At least you can made separate version of graphics-only mod at any time.

Looks nice, but remove the shine from airplane. No one polishes them, especially under alien assault.

The modelled guy is so clean he even shaved his hands, but overall the model is great.
Great model, but it looks strange that he wears all that shiny gear and washes his uniform everyday, but can't patch his pants and find new knee pad. And yes his forehead a bit tall, while hairstyle (which is cool) makes it to look even taller, so make his head a bit shorter plz.

OMG HD!!! But he looks like ironclad bodybuilder too much (when he is in fact a robot). IMHO, you should make metal parts on his arms a bit smaller and his legs more massive at the bottom and maybe more angular. But maybe it's just perspective effect or the fact that I've never seen his front side.
P.S. As i remember his armor has blue/metallic color.

That's really bad (I'd be insane if that happened to me), but if it was "just simple .sql exploit" why it couldn't been fixed beforehand? Anyway, I hope that won't hinder your development much.
This mod is really great. Posters made it slow and bloated though. Anyway, looking forward to 4.5.
OK. I will definitely try it on ION GPU. :-) If you are planning to realease a demo till the end of the year chances that I'll try it on my Radeon 2600XT.
