I went round the west for more than an hour. I found all sorts of cool stuff though, so wasn't a complete waste of time haha

I'm playing the mod quite happily with only 2gb of ram. I'm using XP. Got full lighting on and full view distance, pretty low on the other things though. The only problem I have with crashing is when moving between areas and that does seem to be due to ram. However with autosave enabled, i just restart the game after it's crashed and it will have autosaved me into the next area.

I found that it was easy to do the uncle yar quest if you went and shot the zombies first. I used a sniper and they all went down pretty easy. Used up all my ammo though and had to go back to zaton for more :)

That would be absolutely fantastic to have it in December. But please don't rush it! We can wait if it means more features :)

I love it. I'm going to have to buy a new computer so I can play this on high settings :)

I like your approach to this. However I remember someone making a good point about the hunger: You shouldn't die from it unless it's been weeks without food. You could make thirst a serious danger perhaps and lack of food could still affect endurance but to die from hunger in a few days is definitely not realistic. I also think that the current endurance system could do with a few tweaks. First and most significant would be to make your weapon move all over the place while you're puffing. Sprinting until you can no longer walk and then being able to fire accurate shots while standing is silly. Secondly it would be cool if you could run until you blacked out (like, gradually slowing down, loud, heavy breathing and an increasingly fast heartbeat until you just fall over and get up a few minutes later) The way this fits in with the weight system would also be pretty important. Obviously it gets very complicated and difficult to tie everything together well, but I think if you can manage it then it'd be great to touch on some of these aspects. Someone else mentioned that you should be able to pile on all the equipment you want but it will affect your stamina to the point where you can not even stand, let alone move. I totally agree with this and would appreciate it if you could tweak this aspect of the gameplay. Limiting the number of weapons you can pick up due to space limitation would also be fair although I can imagine this would be harder to implement effectively. What are your thoughts?

Oh of course, I hadn't thought of the legal issues :/

I've found that the difficulty in the first zone is okay when you start out. But once you've played through it once, or even if you're new to it, the stashes simply give you too much gear. To have auto shotguns and NATO weapons from stashes within a few minutes of exploring makes the game very easy very quickly. It's still acceptable I think until you reach Jupiter. Once there you'll find weapons left-right and centre and all ammo issues are gone and the only difficult thing is deciding if you want to use nato or 9x39 weapons. This made the difficulty drop significantly and all that is left to worry about are the occasional firefights. Even bloodsuckers are hardly a problem with a decent shotgun equipped.

The concern I am trying to voice is that you should be careful to keep the game equally challenging once you've moved into the next zone. Even in IWA I found this to be a problem. I think that having new stash locations should make this better but I also think you will need to make them very difficult and dangerous to find. I trust that you can do this of course, just wanted to make sure that it does not become too easy to accumulate gear :)

Keep up the excellent work!

PS. I think you should put up your email address for paypal donations

Awesome! :D

Another note on the headgear, just a small detail: When you go to sleep or to a cutscene is it possible to remove it? For example when examining the helicopters you're looking at yourself in third person and yet the edges of the helmet are still showing... Felt strange to me. Hopefully it is something simple to fix - don't bother if it'll take ages.

Also, in support of my suggestion to add a significant colour tint when wearing headgear, the images and models of the SEVA suit have a big black oval covering the face. I find it hard to imagine that this would be 100% transparent from the inside :)

Are the shooting mechanics going to be changed in comparison to IWA? Because personally I'm happy with ridiculous amounts of recoil, I like having to counter it by forcing the aim down or shooting in careful bursts. Would add more value to the upgrading system too because the fancier guns make it somewhat redundant.

I don't know if anyone else shares my opinion on this but I do think that it would be more realistic to have a large deal of recoil. It was the only aspect where I preferred another mod to IWA :P

I had a thought regarding medpacks... I think it was RCOM that I tried where the medpacks lasted for a minute or so. This was great in terms of healing slowly, however it meant that I didn't end up using many medpacks at all and I could make a lot of money by selling medical supplies and save weight in my backpack by only taking a couple of kits.

Perhaps if you were to implement something similar, where healing is much slower but immediately stops when injured again. This will avoid the case of a medkit saving you from future bullet wounds :)

The idea of painkillers would be a great thing to incorporate too I think. The visual effects in IWA where the screen fades and you get all wobbly are great. Perhaps along with needing bandages for bleeding it would be cool to have painkillers to help reduce effects like that when you get hit?

I'm late to the modding scene, but loving this stuff so just throwing ideas out here :D Keep up the outstanding work

Hi there. I've been playing through I Work Alone (I'm loving it, incredible work!) and I just wanted to comment on the masks. I think having them show is very cool, however I've found them to clash with the scopes quite badly, the scopes appear to be between your face and the mask which doesn't quite seem right :P Just wanted to mention this in case it hadn't been noticed already. Hopefully it's an easy and quick fix :)

Also, I think I'd like less-subtle tints to the headgear. In my opinion it would be quite acceptable to impair our vision when wearing a mask.

Well it's a shame that this is not possible. However I'm sure that your sound effects will be more than adequate to make me forget about that limitation :) Keep up the good work

Hey guys, I just had a thought...
Would it be possible to have different weapon sounds when indoors and outdoors? For example, if you were firing a .45 cal pistol outdoors a lot of the sound would not be going in your direction but if you were in a small room inside a lab your ears would be ringing for the next few minutes.

Well, I'm no gun nut but this is my understanding of it. I realise it'd be ridiculously difficult to add extra sounds to the same gun. However, if it were possible to amplify or echo the regular sound when in a confined environment it could be quite effective. Just an idea, thought i'd throw in my two cents :)
