i thought the same when brainstorming, but the engine i plan on using is very powerful but can keep up a good 40 FPS right now, and its still in development, so i have good hopes for the outcome, and there are always the little shortcuts that can be made ;)

oh yah, i forgot to mention, my laptop was labeled as a desktop replacement, average computer, but really its a gaming laptop. i already have the graphics at max. i meant the actual graphics engine
this is not in anyway about this heated discussion with the new SOPA law, so yah. but anyway, i just thought about this. the games base graphics are great for when it was made but is there any way to change them, cause i think its been done in other mods.
is this only ground and air, or are there naval units as well. i hope, no other strategy games have naval besides the battlestations series, but that revolves around the naval aspect. maybe R.U.S.E 2 will include it....

question's about the shield aspect of the game. 1.) do any ships have more than one shield hard-point and 2.) if they do, do the shields get weaker if one gets destroyed.
a mod for BF3 like this would the most epic thing ever. but alas, the games "too complex" to do something like that... maybe theyll make something like that like they did Vietnam for BF: BC 2. fingers are crossed

probably the best texture for both a ship and mining facility ive seen in any mod for this game
thanks! i cant wait too, but until the software that i want to use is ready, which should be relatively soon, i cant really do anything with it besides modeling and the like, but i am pretty much done modeling the space age fleet, which i plan to upload this weekend (if the world doesnt end ;)

i know of a couple of foc mods that have better hard-points than these cruddy original ones.
a simpler, but a little more costly way to defeat a SSD is to have EVERYTHING you have focus on one side of it, then when all the weapons for that side are destroyed, you have a giant area where only its missiles can target you, which makes destroying the other side much easier. i do think that they should re-incorporate the sets of hard-points for the engines, shields, and especially the hangers, cause it creates enough fighters to destroy a fleet on their own.
